9 - Robert Lewandowski

The argument about Suarez was always about letting him go to replace him with younger player that could run and not have two attackers that barely pressed.

That replacement would have been expected to be more than just a runner though.

On Ferran.. I would doubt he would score much less than Lewa if at CF all season and on penalties.

Blame Lewy all you like but he's been doing his job all season.

Yes he's not played that well in the previous few games but Barca didn't drop points in the league solely because of him, but because of defenders like Kounde making several defensive blunders.

2 and half games without him this season:

15 goals scored
19 big chances created
Champagne football all around

I'm afraid the ball doesn't lie :flick2:
That sure sounds like ironic stat fetish, considering last few pages people were dismissing stats.

i am not defending him at all, but just consider for a second here that when he doesnt play it might be that the opponent sucks. So no matter who you put on the squad its gonna be easy.

That doesnt mean hes vital, just consider this because the stat thing is hella funny. Barca just played 19th La Liga team and you are acting like you can get anything from this match, just as Mboopi scoring 3 against Valladoid Lol

Brother he had 2 (T-W-O) Liga goals since the October Clásico before this game while dropping stinkers left and right in those 8 games. Even in the Benfica game he was absolutely dreadful.

Do you even watch our games ????.

I agree with you. I was one of the name Messi/Suarez out supporters back then.

It's just funny to see the same argument repeat.

Flick is managing this well. Just as he transitioned Woj and Pena, he is now transitioning Lewy from bonafide starter to main striker but with rotations and substitutions. So that's progress, and Ferran/Olmost responded well with the change.

Pretty sure we will go for a forward/LW hybrid in the summer. Should have been Marcus Thurman a fee years back.

I'm guessing the club was interested in Marmoush but Pep went big and quick. Just the way he likes it.

Ferran is a good option to relieve him from starting and adds more off the ball.

Lewa is amazing when he's got gas in the tank but he needs to be given games off from time to time. Good to see it as that is the right way to manage it.

His season has been great so far so let's not underplay it.

In most games Ferran should play 60 minutes and the tractor then comes in for the last 30. Don't know how Lewa's ego would take that.
Now this is a scenario we should go with next season while signing a striker in the summer.

Tuna shouldn't play 60ish minutes per game.

Just watched his goal. Do people realise how difficult that finish is? His shooting ability is unreal.

He rarely scores a goal without placing it intentionally. Amazing accuracy, power, technique and control.

Must be great for the Barca youngsters to watch him, learn and improve their finishing/goalscoring..............
