Barca needed legs, pressing and midfield controll after being man down. None of which lew provides. He's good at scoring goals from static positions, when provided chances, which is almost impossible, when man down. He is the slowest and clumsiest player on the entire starting lineup, so he can't participate in counter attacks, let alone be a point man for scoring. His holdup play, at lest at this age, is null. He never wins any battle and gets bodied easily by tiny defenders, who are younger.

So basically every single trump he might have got taken away from him, while he stumbles around the field like mannequin on roller skates instead of giving way for somebody younger, who can at least work his ass off in pressing and run into spaces for counters. As i said, no brainer.

Thank you so much Gnidtologist for this clear and true description of this flop. Cannot be a better one. Here is not about hate of somebody, but just objectivity. No doubt that everybody on this forum will agree with except few who should in no way part of this forum.
Before he was sub, I was following him and he could barely move , let alone run. It was obvious to me that it something odd if he is not sub.

And let's not blame the plebeian mob for not seeing it. They think they know better than Flick himself by seeing all the little moves and game nuances inside the match from the vantage point of their sofa, while starring at the TV screen.

He played a crucial role in defense and mid.

Was alright and did his job.
I would have taken him out instead of Olmo, if we tried to play the same game.

But Flick changed his tactics, and Lewa's job was to Hold up play up the pitch to be a threat for counters. Yes he should have scored or did better pressing, but we all know at this age, he wont be as clinical or athletic as we want him to be.
We don't have a striker that can replace him, plus he does have the experience to carry out his job. Torres is not a hold up player, niether is Olmo.
That said, any decent striker, we would atleast have a much easier game, because of the pressing provided upfront.
