Romero said we're only willing to pay 25-30m and that it's up to Zahavi to convince Bayern to sell him for that much if Lewandowski want to join us. If not we'll move on.

Are we seriously considering signing 33 year old Lewa? We should spend the money on young, promising players, for example a RB or CB

Signing him for excessive money is not way to go but up to 30M is a fair investment in short term success.
Lewa is surefire balancing out league competitiveness if you assume Mbappe is to be a success and minimizes risk of financial suffering when Auba's legs give way and you have nobody else to score needed volume of goals
Plus brings extra eyes to Barcelona that other transfers would not

If I were in Barca shoes I'd probably buy
Besides other things, gives all kinds of tactical flexibility

Do Barca have an urgent need to fill a position this summer?
Roberto going and Alves being 39 means ideally RB needed. Nobody at La Masia to play that role? Could also go with loan
CBs would survive

Bigger issues with Lewa transfer would be to do with his deal and doors it closes to other attacking talent in case he doesn't get on with Xavi

No way Bayern sell him that cheap 😆.
They would rather let him go for free. We can't even afford this and Lewa despite being great is old. He's also been a one league player which means he will take time to adapt. We don't have time or money. I'm sure there are some good nines out there. Johnathan David comes to mind. Get someone young.

Actually both of these propositions were falsified in the case of Thiago.
Bayern were forced to sell, and NOT on the price they would ideally want.
Same with happen with Lewa, they don't have the power to stop it, and they would cash in instead of losing him for free in 1 year

Problem lies elsewhere:
1) his wages
2) his fit with our project

The wage would definitely be massive, like around 20m since his current wage is already 19.5m.

That would still be a lot of money. Add in his salary that's around 100M in total. Maybe even more.

What would be fine if he keeps up his current level for 3 years but at 34+ it's a big gamble. Might end up with us dragging an old overpaid superstar for 1-2 years, i really thought we're over that...

Might also work out and he can magically keep his shape and keep playing like a machine, but it's a risk.
