Only since K-Dawg arrived where the central midfielders pushed into the attacking line and Busquets became the createor of all. Xavi shockingly continued this.

Probably stemmed from both not trusting the other mids to dictate and mutating of the midfield not having anyone else to create after the demise of Rakitic circa 2018.

But it was never a thing before Koeman really. Before that when we had Iniesta and Xavi, Busquets always looked inferior and to a degree clueless when he ventures to the attacking third sporadically.
