He's an elite player but the twerkers who were expecting 50 goals a season from a 34 year old striker in a tougher league in a new team are in for a juicy L/ rude awakening.

I said this before he came. He'll be lucky to get 30 in all competitions. He needs a Muller like player near him. Ferran Torres, maybe?

Suarez scored in his debut against Real. But yeah, you're right. Lewy saving his debut goal for la liga.

Suarez did not score in that match. Madrid defeated us 3-1 and Neymar scored the only goal. Think you are referring to the second Clasico of that season where Luis scored that winner and sealed the title for us.

Called it way way back. But was accused of inventing narratives. The fans here are struggling to hide their obvious dislike for the man.

It was pretty obvious from day 1 that after every uneventful game the brickbats would be out. But after the 1st and 2nd preseason games is a whole new level.

RL9 played 45 mins and 60 mins in the 1st 2 games after training for 3 or 4 days with the team while playing under experimental tactics with random subs in and out. Here he's already being written off.

Let the guy start failing atleast. Jeez.

He assisted Neymar's goal btw. Also created a sitter for Messi but the Goat missed.

Yes, but Suarez took a while to return to the Liverpool form we were expecting when we signed him. Took him a month to get his first goal and did not round into vintage Suarez until the new year when MSN began flying.

Lewa being mediocre for a few preseason matches in a new side during extreme heat is nothing to worry about.

Saying he'll score around 35 goals for us this season (impressive tally for a 34 year old in new league) is not writing him off or hating him.

Meanwhile saying he'll annihilate LL more than Bundesliga and score 50 + goals in a season (league + all comps), which was prime Messi / CR7 level...is the real crazy stuff.

Not sure where the hating is. No one is saying he's a bum like Braithwaithe who'll score 5-10 goals.

more importantly, his movement is great and he looks sharp

ie. when he stole the ball vs Madrid and struck the ball clean forcing a good stop by Courtois. In and it's a golazzo

He defo has it in him to beat the 33 goals record in a debut season. Depends on the tactics and how much service he gets

Suarez at that time played on the wing, also just returned after a long ban.

I don't worry about Lewa's quality, but i do worry about the service he will get.

Ik you rate him. I never said anything about your 35 goal prediction. That's a good shout. Me and some other lads went with a more bold prediction.

Coming to the games, he was invisible today but was good against Madrid imo.

If Lewandowski performs and carries on his Bayern form at Barca then the rationale for bringing Messi back in 2023 becomes much weaker. Conversely, if Lewa turns into what Lukaku was for Chelsea then Messi can be sold as the saviour returning to help Barca rise from the ashes.

This is a proxy war for Leo 2023 and Messi diehards have a vested interest in seeing Rob fail.
