Let's hope Kubo is too ugly to play for Madrid. We should go all in.
True. He is destrying them.

But they have Vini, Rodrygo and Mbappe soon, so there is no way he will go there to be bench option.

Also the way he celebrtated shows he does not miss them and he is not one of Ueafrid dogs.

Still would prefer a younger, faster, better at interplay and more energetic striker.
As long as he can bring the clutch goals in important matches, we should be ok with him.

It is Xavi’s responsibility to set up our midfield in such a way that it benefits our attack. Midfielders should support the build up beyond passing the ball out wide.

Lewandowski is still as lethal as Haaland when in a system that complements his strengths.

When we play against managers who have figured us out, we struggle big time. Play is static, slow and repetitive. Back passes galore. Plays out wide and inshallah! It relies on individual brilliance. Hence Felix’ and Cancelo’s goals. Felix dummy. This was raw intelligence. At this level, it’s about more than that!

And so far, we haven’t seen it consistently.

When we lose, the excuse is always “but but but we had injured players.” To that I say that with a proper system, in which every player has a role, with habits and positions engrained, with one outcome “always” in mind, to score a goal, a few injuries shouldn’t matter. The system should be habitual. At this level this is true, especially at Barcelona where beautiful football is a requirement. Unless the Manager is Catalan. 😜 For Koeman, it certainly was!

So shit on one of the greatest strikers of all time, but without proper tactics, without a midfield foundation that supports creativity and provides assists consistently, habitually, and unpredictably, Lewa and co. will struggle, especially against intelligent managers.

But I also believe in growth, in getting better through experience, as long as awareness is there, so let’s see how Xavi plays against smart European managers this season. German teams! 😏

I still get the ick by watching Xavi’s brother provide instructions to Yamal or Felix. 🤣

Of course he’s gonna look better if our players perform champagne moves like that from Felix. But as lethal as Haaland? Come on…
In the sense that age doesn’t affect a player’s ability to execute in front of goal. It also doesn’t affect positional awareness. But that requires one of two things(preferably both): 1) individual intelligence of teammates, 2) a system which facilitates opportunities to score from the best angles.
