Eto'o missed an incredible amount of chances as well.

What kind of chances? Clear Cut 1 on 1 opportunity after opportunity that a FC Barcelona striker should be taking like bread and butter?

I certainly don't remember Eto'o missing a ridiculous number of 1 on 1 opportunities iany of his seasons with us. Yes he would smash a few from distance off target every now and again, but an incredible amount of chances? No. And certainly not so many 1 on 1's

I bet you Eto'o will score more goals than Villa in all competitions this season! And Seire A is not an easy league to be scoring freely in! In a team like Barca, Villa should be doing that all the time given the number of 1 on 1's hes not taken this season.

Seriously Ben Arfa, stop embarrassing yourself. Just saying. As other members has told you he used to miss a lot.

Villa has better control, is more creative, is able to adapt more to a team-role; Sammy is quicker (and pre-injury was even quicker still) and he works harder. Their finishing is about the same imo, both miss a lot of chances but are generally better than 99% of other strikers out there.

To put Villa's awesomeness in perspective, though: Sammy scored 130 goals in 200 games for Barcelona and 20 assists. Villa scored 129 in 212 for Valencia with 53 assists. When you consider the difference in quality of the players in their respective teams....

I'd take Villa, just. He is more level-headed and much MUCH more suited to playing second fiddle to Messi/not being the centre forward for Barcelona.

Finishing isn't what makes Eto'o and Villa so great. It's the way they pick out runs and their work rate. Neither of which Ibra had.

How am I embarassing myself? I asked what kind of chances Eto'o was missing an incredible amount. Most of Villas have been 1 on 1's this eason!

Let's see who scores more goals this season in all competitions and gets more assits!

Eto'o will, because Villa's main job is to play second fiddle to Messi. While all the players at Inter defer to Eto'o since he's their main goalscorer.

Yep...It's the nature of memories too..We selectively recall aspects of people & Samuel is no different...I can recall him missing a fair number of seemingly simple occasions on goal but for some reason I don't remember him being whistled for offsides as much as Villa

Of course, that IS part of Villa's game

So tell me what the hell did David Villa do tonight? Where was this amazing link up play and assits and creativity and better 1st touch?

You have to admit Villa was total dog poo tonight!

I repeat we can't keep on relying on Messi! Villa needs to really man up properly and step up to the plate!

And don't say cos he played 2nd fiddle to Messi! Villa was awful tonight!

Please Ben Arfa? What is wrong with you when it comes to the Villa/Eto'o discussion?

I think we all can agree that Villa had a bad game today. So had Eto'o several times in the past. Don't know what your point is.

Personally, I'd take Eto any day of the week.

Why. I wont compare them. Overall, Villa might be better. But Eto's workrate is the thing Villa lacks, and i'd take him for that only. Plus, Etos technique, shooting and dribbling technique has improved greatly, he is not the same player he was at Barca. He adapted Serie A well, he even changed his style, he is different. And i doubt Villa would be as good as Eto in Italy, i believe he is not as adaptable as Eto. Eto is also physicly better than Villa. I think Villa will start fading in 2 years, while Eto can play on highest level for 2-3 years at least.

Im not saying Eto is better, but my prefference would be him :)

And which importance do the supposed fact that Eto'o is better than Villa would be in Serie A have? None actually.

Villas workrate is more or less the same. Both are great in that aspect.

You arleady know my point. And I'm just saying I didn't see any of what you described of David Villa's strong points on display at all today!

I'm sure Eto'o had bad games in a barca shit too.

I said, I BELIEVE. It doesnt mean i am right.

And no, Villas workrate is decent, but no way it is near as Etos. And i think Eto is better because he is more adaptable, and is much stronger physicly than Villa. I repeat, i think, my oppinion, it doesnt mean i am right ;)
