If he was a money whore, he would easily choose Man City than Inter in 2009 I guess. If I remember right, they were ready to make him the highest paid player in the world. If they managed to offer Yaya a 200k per week, just imagine what they would give to Eto'o.

We have different memories for what happened then. Because from what I remember, Barca accepted City's bid and Eto'o turned them down.

Am I the only one who actually think that the departure of Eto'o was a good idea (we should not have bought Ibra looking at it in retroperspective but that is another matter) and a improvement on our playing style?

What regard our success on the field then we have not lost anything from the Eto'o sale. In fact we have only improved which our titles in the last two years (and playing style) conform.

Uggh, the memories of that saga...In terms of my like for the player, that was my lowest point with him...Felt like he was going to go to any length to try & insure the club didn't get the best deal possible for him - smacked of spite

Indeed he was offered to City. I also remember a interest from Man U and Milan.

Still can't believe we made that deal with Inter. Glad Laporta is gone.

I think Laporta was against the deal but had no choice as pep decided Eto needed to go. In fact, Eto was one of Laporta's favorite players if I remember correctly.

You could be right Bojan. As I remember it Eto'o had a few conflicts with Laporta as well although Rijkaard became his main problem in the Dutchmans last season.

i ve been asking this over and over, but i will try once more:

Do you know why??

According to Pep, he had a "feeling" that after the success of the treble year, it was time for a change. Because of the need for a change, Eto'o had to go, or so I've heard.
