Eto'o in my eyes has done a spectacular job as a player. He improved this season for sure, and has improved his worth to the club. After a great season by anyone's standards he gets the word that once again the club no longer wants him. I really don't think he is all about the money after all he does run a charity to give African's a better chance

Despite a goal in the CL final we're talking about a player who was very much off the boil in the last quarter of the season and who is showing signs of losing the edge he once had. Some of the chances he missed this season were absurd and there's no doubt he would have buried them two or three seasons ago. Add his slow decline to the fact that he is off to the ANC for a month in the new year and that he only has a year to go before he can walk for nothing then the club's decision becomes understandable.

yeah ok, he refused the offer but i think it is quite normal that the club wanted to pay him less given his strange abilities in the last months. it will still be enough money.

oh, and eto'o is loved. seriously, it's amazing. i think he is the only barcaplayer that can pull off those stunts (missing all chances but still play most games, being a dick in situations like now, his history in the club, ...) without losing passion from the fans.

i would say Eto'o is VERY loved, he only makes it hard for himself with his Eto'o behaviour.

Samu's agent (Jose Maria Mesalles) is what really tips me off. The guy is obviously a greedy git and there's nothing he's going to do about it. Their decision of staying while still not wanting a contract renewal will most likely change Samu's image at Barça. At the end of it, it's not his greedy agent who fans see, but Eto'o

No my friend.. it's not quite normal to pay less your top scorer in the last 5 years.. it's normal to repay your CL goal scorer and treble winner with less money...

would u accept your employee bonus after you done a great job & tripled their revenue buy telling you "hey i'll pay you less cause i want you to leave " or " you've done a great job now you can sod off to other firm "

the season is not a quarter of it.. it's 38 liga games plus copa plus CL.. u judge his overall contribution.. u judge how he rose to the occasion ONCE AGAIN to give you your most memorable trophy.. a trophy you record in it is so poor .. E2 contributed greatly in giving you 2 CL ... and he scored in both finals.. a feature not many players can claim...
he is your top scorer in the liga with a great margin of goals , he contribute well to the team play and understand how u play
and he always went to the CAN ... it was never an issue before i don't see how it's an issue now !!! ...

again that's the least u can do.. u should reward him for his service and consistency in the past 5 years .. it's not greed... greed is what Dinho used to do .. asking for a new contract every 3 month.. E2 earned it fair & square

Actually there was some talks during the winter but his agent called it off insisting that all contract negotiation be done in the summer. That way they have the club in a nice dark corner.
