We`d be better off with Eto + Keirrison than with Villa. And the latter would cost us 30 mil. more. As I understand Pep is the main obstacle in Eto staying. And while one cannot question his reasons I`m still perplexed at this whole thing.

Well maybe Pep had enough. There were several articles from different sources that indicated Samuel behaviour wasnt that great even in the treble winning season. He apparently threw a tantrum in the dressing room after the Osasuna game. Pep thought he could handle him (which he did since we never heard any stories in the press) but maybe he just want a less me-me-player. Eto'o did amazing things to this club and is already part of its history. It's just time to move on and refresh the forward line. Eto'o and Marquez are the only old guard left. While the latter is happy to play his part quietly, we cant say the same about Samuel. We'll have a difficult year and some new challenegs next year. We need a highly motivated squad. Lets even assume its all our fault and hes an angel. What should we do now? Offer him 15 mil and break our salary structure? How will this affect the other players?

Don't go blind just on the treble result. we've seen it in this thread during the last months, he was playing like a droopy (except the champions league final)

It's soooooo Eto'o. it is always love mixed with some dislike. he can never do what you expect or what you want without some dodgy side effects. THAT is what puts him in the situation he is in now. i'm sure almost every cule loves to guy to death but there is always a certain percentage in that love that could easily evolve into unlove or hate.

i understand what you mean but i can also understand what the board does. this season we had a treble season. you will find positive and negative sides on every move they will make. it will be decided at the end of next season if it was a good move by the board ...... and given the treble succes it almost seems to be certain that it will be a wrong move cause another treble with these statistics seem unthinkable.
