I maintained from the start though that we should have loaned him as there is a talented player there, but his growth will be long and tedious. Something that doesn't happen at a top club. People loved late 20s Zaha, but he was fuckin' bricks at United.

Now I didn't expect Dembele to leave, and I do like the profile that Abde brings even if he can be wasteful and frustrating. But in closed games, if he can beat his man 7 times out of 10, even if nothing comes from it it at worst opens space somewhere else for Lamine or another to exploit.

Hopefully that is just negotiation tactics although wouldnt put it past Xavi to think that.

Dembele was one of most creative players for Barca and stretched game/put in crosses.

It is an opinion based on his time at Osasuna and at Barcelona previously also whether that be a positive or negative one.

Folk see it differently and some will be right and some wont.

Maybe he shows more in training and Xavi sees what we are not seeing in games and he is right.
