He's not a terrible LB by any means. He's average at all aspects. Average attack, average defender, average everything- but that is what makes him so precious imo. He's a hard worker, like Alba, but he's not a hothead, more disciplined and defends a little better. If Alves is at RB, I'd prefer Adriano to Alba every time.

I would disagree certainly in saying that he's average in attack. For a left back he is pretty good, his shooting is amazing and he can also get in the box to score the odd goal. He also has an excellent, excellent mentality and he can score the big goals when the team needs them. Defensively he isn't great and has weaknesses, but he has good pace which makes him effective in our high line. The only problem I would say in terms of his mentality is that he gives away a lot of silly and unneccesary fouls.

He is the best left back in the word when injury free. There I said it (Lahm hasn't played LB in ages). If he stays healthy, Marcelo won't smell a match minute this summer.

:) No, he is probably the best attacking LB in the world not the best LB globally. There are quite are many better defending LB than Adriano.

Adriano is a terrible LB, nevermind nowhere near the best in the world...Right now, I'd rate Alaba as one of the best

Indeed Alaba is one of the best if not the best but Adriano is nowhere near a terrible LB, be serious. He is not too good at defending but offensively he is one of the best in the world. He used to play as a winger and even as a forward an that can always be seen on his performances.

I'd say he's got an above average shot at least but okay :/

Was never really tested defensively, which is the weakest part of his game...However, he was brilliant going forward, linking up and tracking back on misplaced passes in addition to providing a good outlet for Valdes with the high pressure

Thought it was strange that Lennon clearly targeted Bartra whom he had already faced rather than the weakest defensive link in Adriano

I think he had a very good match. Come to think of it, every time he plays he performs well. Alba will face tough competition once he gets back from injury.

An excellent game from Adriano that tactically suited him very well since he could do much in offense and had little to worry in the defence compartment.

He is born to be played in such type of matches !
