Vocal or not, he played 20 matches there last season. Rakitić also covers for Sergio when he's not there.

He obviously had issues with PSG. I don't want that, let me be clear. Depends on what they can achieve in talks.
But I still think: if we're giving up on him, it's not because of Alena.

Vidal is not really a CDM. His is an aging box to box player though still brings lots of passion and energy. Vidal is also on even bigger wages than Rakitic. I want a technical and disciplined player to rotate with Busi. Rather not burden that with FDJ yet, rather give him a little more freedom. I would be for selling both Rakitic and Vidal if we got Rabiot. Rabiot then could spell Busi but not have that his primary position with the core 4 midfielders next year as Arthur, FDJ, Busi and Rabiot (anything we get from Alena or Coutinho in midfield I view as a bonus, not something to count on just yet). If he says "yeah I'd love to do that for Barcelona" and at a wage between Vidal and Rakitic I'd say get it done.

According to Kicker, Bayern considered signing Rabiot in the winter but it seems that it would be deemed too expensive to sign him due to wages by the sounds of it.

The offer we made was the best anyone was going to give him and all he needed to do was put to pen and paper that he signed a contract with us and will join in the Summer. His mom, however, thought she can squeeze more money out of us by trying to use other clubs for leverage and it failed as we moved on.
I'm sure most clubs would snatch him up but only if she and her son lower their demands. We made them a 10 Million a season Salary and a 10 Million Signing bonus and that was the best he and his mom was going to get and she ended up fucking it up.

True. How fucking greedy can his mother be. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and she screws it up.
He will probably end up at Spurs or Liverpool. I won't be surprised if he does an about turn and renews with Psg.

The ball is on our side of the net now. If they crawl back, we can offer him 7 million per year and 5 million of bonus plus he isn't guaranteed a starting spot. If he doesn't take it makes no difference for us. We secured De Jong and don't desperately need a midfielder.
If he really wants to come here he would take it.
