But why would we play a mediocre player a wage of a veteran Barca legend? If he can straighten his head and accept a supportive squad player role, it would be different, but that doesn't seem to be realistic expectation.

What are you talking about? Everyone knows that if Xavi and Iniesta were just a little faster they'd have been wingers instead. Same for Busquets. Stop trolling.

Iniesta did play as a winger for many of our seasons including most recently last season...

Why do you think faster midfielders like Matuidi are deployed wide on occasion?

The truly fast players become wingers that simple. Because pce is more important in wide areas than centrally.

As for Rabiot again he is fast for a CM do people on here expect a 6 foot 4 man to be as fast and agile as Messi?

Not even going to bother to reply to Don for obvious reasons. I don't rate his football knowledge

If De Jong reports are true, I bet Rabiot will be our player in summer. I honestly don't know how to feel about that. Come on [MENTION=16942]BBZ8800[/MENTION] elaborate once again why is signing Rabiot a good decision apart from the fact that he will come for free? I am really concerned about this transfer and potential problems with his behavior.

Crapiot is a nothing player really, doesn't do anything well. He isn't good enough for Barca but I guess the club is satisfied with mediocrity these days.

He has became underrated lately, I don't want him because he is bad fit and probably not what midfield needs (I think DM is bigger need atm) and don't like his behavior but he is a good player actually

Don't know about this. Busi is obviously not going anywhere and we have Raki and Arthur who can cover for him with Oriol Busquets in Barça B (I'm not as high on him as some people but I think he could at least be a useful squad player if given a chance).

Some people need to chill out, yes he is a diva but he is for sure not a BAD player like some of you are describing him. It was probably between him and De Jong. I suppose we intend to sign De Ligt for similar money so our board has concluded that it's better to bet on Rabiot for free than on De Jong for 75 mil. Bare in mind that we still need to sign a striker and LB. Economically speaking it's logical decision but we'll see how will that end. Major question is whether he is a good fit or not? IMHO De Jong would have been a better fit for sure but I suppose we'll never find out how much better.

Also let's be honest to ourselves. Our major problem is not missing out on De Jong but not developing ANY top class midfielder from La Masia since Thiago left. I hope one of Alena or Puig will change that.
