He is not crap that's the problem here and in many forums, players only can be either crap or crack. Rabiot is polyvalent and still young, but he is not Barca or Paris S.G. material, that's it. His behiavour is awful but behaviour can change. I still think if he comes to Barca, he will play not as regular starter, but as one of the top-rotation guy.
Andre Gomes was insulted here and considered as crap and right now he is doing great in Everton.
Fair judgment is the best thing to do when discussing about players.
So for 2 seasons playing poorly, you expect people to praise Gomes? You act like he ever played only one match. He hardly even had a shot on target. The midfield is the most crucial part in making Barcelona work, and Messi dropping in midfield is to create something phenomenal, which is why people often talk about Iniesta-Xavi-Messi.
Gomes could hardly keep the ball, let alone trying to create space for the rest. Not a single performance here in Barcelona was up to par, even for normal standards. So you really cant blame people for criticising him, especially for 2 seasons in big games. And he was actually here to replace Rakitic but this guy was hardly anywhere near him, let alone prime Rakitic. Most people feel he should be better else where.
I mean I don't hate the guy, but saying Gomes was unfairly treated was far-fetched. I don't know why people like to portray that just to satisfy your own fandom. If the player is happy and comfortable and can flourish in that set-up, why bring them back where they will be so miserable to the point of depression because they can hardly put their strengths to good use. It's naturally for the player's good and everyone else's. A win-win. What's so bad about this?
Rabiot will be a similar type player, probably abit faster but he wouldn't flourish here. I really don't think he should be wasted as a "rotation player". He's good and deserve other teams. Same can be said for Gomes, I'm truly happy for him in Everton and he's beaming with confidence there. Hopefully, if he does really well in Everton he'll move to a better club.
Problem is not with forums, it's with Barcelona nowadays, they keep going for players of the wrong profiles while trying to maintain a certain style of play and then end up wasting their careers, especially midfielders.
