Adrien Rabiot

I would take Rabiot for free any day,if there were zero chances of getting De Jong. But he is just so made and needed for Barca. Must buy, but usually this packet buying (like in our case of de ligt+de jong) dont really happen,so if i had to choose i would take frankie. But on the other hand with Umtiti having all thoose knee problems and our lets say stacked midfield situation, De Jong looks like luxury signing and de ligt needed one, i belive we will go for second

Or perhaps Rabiot is Rakitic substitution and we will go for De Jong also.

Why do you think he's crap? He's got issues with attitude, that's true, but we can't know what's the club doing in that regard. Got lots of experience, many good performances to his name. You might not like him, but he's a good player. With potential to improve. :p

I don't watch PSG often, but there's not much to lose. Low risk, high reward, in many ways.

I can't say I don't like him as a person even with his reported shitty attitude (after all I don't know him), it is more of a case that I don't want him to come near us as I think he is crap. I started watching PSG here and there after Neymar and Mbappe joined them and not once did Rabiot leave me any positive impression. He simply is not that good. Far far far from Barca level.

Low risk and high reward in terms of what? He is reportedly asking for a lot of money (in salary) and he has an attitude problem. High reward? It is not like he is going morph into the next midfield maestro.

He is 2 years older than Dembele and Malcom.

Do you guys realize that with posts like this one (regarding Rabiot), you won't be able to use an excuse: he is young, has potential and can improve for Dembele, Malcom and all other 23 years old players ever again?
I mean, if Rabiot's development as a player is finished at 23 and a half, then Dembele doesn't have too much time to improve his current bad passing, bad decisions, bad shielding of a ball and similar.
He has only 24 Months left for that, because, as seen and learned in this topic, once Dembele reaches 23, that's it.
No improvement and development anymore. At 23, it is: what you see is what you get, right?

** Ouch :tata:
I have just figured out that Arthur is already 22 and a half!!
He has only 8 Months to improve, since after 23, that's it. Development is OVER!
He needs to come as close to Xavi in the next 8 Months, otherwise there is no future for him (since, you know: a player can't improve anymore when he turns 23...)

We'll need to sell Arthur in 8 Months, it seems, there is no way for him to improve THAT much before his 23rd birthday :shakeshead:

** Btw, do you know that Luka Modric aged 23 has just signed for Tottenham?
How on Earth has he improved from Dinamo Zagreb's poor quality and a transfer to Tottenham to Ballon D Or aged 33, since after 23 there is no development left?

Luka Modric aged 28 was named as one of the biggest flops in Real's history.
Yet, he developed even after the age of 28, and Rabiot is "dead" at 23

Respect that. The part regarding his quality. Don't necessarily agree, but you seem to watch him more. I've seen he play some very good matches. I'm optimistic in that regard, but can't say I follow him week in week out.

2nd part. He's basically a bargain. He'll cost us more in terms of salary, but he'll come for free. BBZ did the math, if he fails, we'll still be able to get the money back (at least). Money talks aside, he could drastically improve in right enviroment. Still young showing lots of talent.

So let's buy all the crappy 23-year-old players and hope they will improve.

At least with Dembele, he has shown improvement. At least I saw (in almost every single BVB game) what he was able to do as well as what he was not able to do before he came. I was cautiously optimistic, warning folks don't set their hopes too high and that he is raw. At least I saw something good in Dembele when I followed him at BVB. Not in the case with Rabiot.

At least Dembele is 2 years younger (which is a lot) than Rabiot.

Your selectivism is really astounding BBZ.

He's a good talent and I wouldn't mind taking him on a "Free" But if he keeps his Diva attitude up here he won't last long here.

Yeah "nothing to lose" besides paying someone 10M+ net per year to sit on our bench if he doesn't make the starting 11.

If he signs for like 5M okay but we have to stop overpaying everybody, our wage bill is already crazy and that's not just Messi.

Also if it means we don't get De Jong i wouldn't even take Rabiot if he played for free. So i hope signing Rabiot would mean we take our last chance to sell Rakitic for good money.

Well, there's a reason his mom is trying to negotiate a starting spot for her son for whichever team he goes to.
