Just get rid please!
if we aren't going to play him, why sign him?
Constantly getting benched by Roberto should be the height of it if you ask me.

feel really bad for this guy. Lucho basically kicked him to the curb even after he waited half a season on the sidelines just to play for us. Don't know what it is, but this is definitely not Mes Que Un Club

I feel like the anticipation of the registration ban made Vidal into something that he's not. Let's not forget, this is a guy who changed 10 clubs in 9 years of his senior career, many of them Segunda clubs. At some point not so long ago it was questionable whether he would make it as a professional player. The circumstances surrounding last summer's transfer window and his personal qualities (being Catalan, brief history at FCB etc.) made him a far more attractive choice than he really is. If it weren't for the transfer ban and the extreme lack of RBs in the market, he would be viewed as a C-list player and FCB would probably never even consider him, so let's just at least entertain the possibility that Vidal is simply maybe not good enough for this level, and that's why Lucho is excluding him.

We have paid 18M + 4M in add-ons for a C plan RB ?after Alves contract was over and b4 he signed renewal IIRC? just after we won the treble without even looking around in the market ?
Come on now ,that is far fetched .may be he isn't good enough .but in that case it is a misjudgement from the club to his abilities .

I get your point, but the price is hardly relevant. FCB has a track record of overpaying transfers.

The club desperately needed to sign someone, and they needed someone who would be willing to wait until January to play. That's hard enough as it is, even harder when it's a RB you're looking for.

Hard & Desperate by June 7? If he was an August signing like Douglas I could get your point .but Vidal looked clearly like a player that we were looking for and convinced with him

FFS, if they believed he was so bad and they were so desperate, they could just have let Adriano get those minutes then or even Bartra, instead of wasting 20m on so-called garbage. This can not be excused. And this idea that there are never any options available shows a complete lack of competence on our part. Nice signed Ricardo from Porto on loan last summer and he's been brilliant in France this season. There are other options like Fabinho, Cancelo and others, but when our club has no imagination in the transfer market, we get what we deserve.

All signs point to Vidal being a Lucho signing and he was praised for his hard work and typical Lucho attitude when it comes to grit and determination.

If I'm not mistaken, Alves signed his contract extension a few days after we signed Vidal. On June 7 we were still desperate to buy anything resembling a right-flank player.

He was very good and showed promise whenever I saw him play (twice?) so it's really sad that Lucho kicked him out. I really like Lucho but I totally think he got it wrong here.

One of the great mysteries at the end of the season is the distance created between Luis Enrique and Aleix Vidal. The last time the full-back wes included in a squad list was on March 20 against Villarreal. Starting the day FC Barcelona received Real Madrid at Camp Nou, we have not seen him. That day, Rafinha came back after a long injury and took the place of the Catalan. Then his injury prevented him to face At. Madrid and R. Sociedad and once recovered we have not seen him at any other squad list.

This Tuesday, the journalist Javi Miguel explained the reason of these absences. The origin can be found in the injury that prevented Vidal to play against At. Madrid and R. Sociedad. One the training session on April 4 ended, the first after the defeat against Real Madrid, some players (like Aleix Vidal or Jordi Alba) stayed on the pitch kicking a ball to score baskets, an activity out of control of the staff members and in which players bet some money.

After 4 or 5 shots, Aleix Vidal felt some discomfort and ended injured. Just one day before match vs At. Madrid and the trip to Anoeta to face Real Sociedad. So, one of the worst moments, with all the season at stake. When Luis Enrique knew it, he got really angry due to the absurdity of the injury, and decided to put Aleix Vidal in the blacklist.

Apart from this episode, according to Javi Miguel, Vidal's performance in the trainings after the injury dropped, something which doesn't help recover trust of the coach.

Vidal isn't good enough for this level but Douglas is ? :lucho:

Yeah, this is what's wrong with all the theories I've read about Vidal. None of them make sense once you take into account that Vidal is behind Adriano and Douglas in the pecking order.

Why would you get rid of him? Even if he's not a starter, he can still be a good backup when Alves leave. But first he needs to get Lucho's confidence back. I'm sure he can do that.

He's a got a preseason to get back in Lucho's good graces.

Any indication of what may have caused it?
