Dani gone wich means Vidal just became a starter?

We don't know man. If last season is anything to go by, Lucho could prefer Roberto. If we don't sign a straight starter rb, the two of them will probably duke it out for the starting spot during early season.

Hard to imagine a player going from getting close to no minutes at all in his first season, to competing for the starting position.

Would rather we try out Roberto or make a promotion first.

Its so ridiculous that we have a manager who personally requested Vidal and this is the treatment? Mind boggling. How can he insist on a player he doesnt even think is good enough for the bench?

Perhaps when he got here Lucho realized he was ass?

Lol, nah. Arda wouldn't be playing either then. I'm inclined to believe it's just another personal grudge from Lucho.

If it were a grudge, Vidal would be on his way out. Alves and Bob are just better. And he might not be exactly a hard worker.

Lucho must start to eat humble pie and give others with more knowledge about whats going on in Europe a chance. We cant have him doubling down on his old favorites from Celta or old players he thinks he knows from La Liga while opportunities are missed in the market left and right because he is so stubborn.

That's been the case with some of our signings lately, Lucho or not. We buy tested players from La Liga and it has worked well; Keita, Alves, Alba, Rakitic... Than we buy some players from Arsenal, that hasn't really worked out well for us. Than we add some uberstars like Neyboy or Suarez. What we need to do is just like you say, we need to look for some rough and unpolished diamonds from France, Portugal, Italy etc. Only problem is, we have a lot more competition today than 15 years ago - any half-promising player and PSG, Chelsea or United are all over them offering astronomical money for promising players and we don't exactly give such players minutes the last couple of years. But on the other hand, we might as well fire our scouts since they can't find anybody good outside of Liga, Arsenal or looking at 80M+ players.

I dont think we need so many "rough unpolished diamonds". I am perfectly fine with us signing 23-24 year olds as well from smaller teams (meaning, not rich clubs like PSG, not Arsenal etc). There are always players available. PSG signed Aurier for 8m euros the same year we signed Douglas for a similar price. Its just mind blowing what our scouts are doing.

By "rough unpolished diamonds" I mean younger players from smaller teams not yet on everybody's radar that could slip right in into a team like Barcelona after a season or two.

Barça's scouts have been doing a poor job for years. For first and b teams.

Maybe our scouts were so good, that they saw the flaws in his personality and didn't want to ruin group-chemistry

I get your point - Fabinho who we are linked to now, went for 6M. to Monaco, when we bought Vidal for 17M.

I trust that Lucho will make the right choice here - he asked for Vidal himself, and if he does not think he is good enough, he will ask for a replacement, and keep him if he thinks he can prove himself.
