Aleix Vidal

It also depends on what Bellerin wants, maybe he just wants to stay in London for now.

No player in their right mind would stay at Arsenal when Barca comes knocking with the promise of success and a basically empty starting spot with their name on it. Especially not a La Masia kiddo.

I don't get why we are not in for Bruno Perez.
Asides Bellerin (purely based on sentiments), he is currently the best RB in the market.

We are not looking for a right back this transfer window. Lucho is putting his trust in Vidal & Sergi Roberto, that was already the plan last summer before Alves decided to stay.

Am I the only one not concerned by Vidal and Roberto being our RBs this season? I trust Bob to deliver as he did last season, and I am confident Aleix will improve and grow more into the role provided Lucho doesn't have it out for him and doesn't keep him perma-benched

The thing is, you should be.

Roberto isn't a RB, and our only examples to the contrary are all in one small cluster of games when Dani was injured. There's no indication he'll be much of a match for the likes of Ronaldo, Sanchez, Sterling, Bale, etc when playing in our biggest games. And Vidal isn't even a defender, either, as he's shown. His attacking qualities are okay I guess but defensively he just isn't there and likely won't ever be. And of course, he's already deep on Lucho's shit list, which can't be overlooked. I wouldn't find it hard to imagine Lucho finding a way to play anyone but Vidal if the need for him ever arose.

His comments today about the meeting he had with Lucho back in April are interesting. I was surprised he admitted he probably wasn't putting in 100% effort in training. Sounds like they cleared the air though. Hopefully he'll get more minutes to prove himself this season.

Aleix: "I had a long talk with the coach, because I didn't feel right. He explained what he thought and I told him what I did."

Aleix: "I was unhappy about some things and the coach was unhappy about others. We both had our reasons."

Aleix: "The best thing is that we resolved our differences and we left the meeting content."

Aleix: "Maybe unconsciously I wasn't training at 100% because I knew I couldn't play."

Aleix: "I was surprised when I realized that I wasn't just behind Dani, but behind Sergi Roberto too."
