Aleix Vidal

Danger Ahead
Yeah, he looked very weak defensively and that's just against Celtic B team, no way Lucho will start him against teams like RM, Atletico, Bayern, it'll definitely be Roberto.

If we aren't going to get a RB this window, the safest option for the RB spot is Roberto.

Roberto bar that Valencia game (To be fair everyone during that time was in awful form) wasn't bad defensively, but his attacking game was lacking. Roberto while not as good going forward as Vidal is, He's much better Defensively and and is a lot more tactically Disciplined than Vidal is.

Roberto isn't perfect obviously, but He's much farther ahead at the one aspect a Fullback must have over Vidal and it's defending. It's much easier at this stage to help Roberto to continue to refine and improve his Defensive Positioning and him adding more to his attacking game than teaching Vidal how to Defend.

This is my thoughts if we are going to skip getting a RB this window and waiting until Next Summer.

Let Arsenal and Valencia refine Bellerin and Cancelo so we swoop in for either of them next year :tito:

Watch Sergi turn into a freaking god at RB and make us all question why he ever tried playing CM in the first place or something.

Wouldn't mind that. Would be the best solution. I have my doubts though so let's see. I hope it happens.

I have doubts as well. I can't believe a club that's won five major trophies in the past two seasons can be starting the season without a single RB on the squad. Roberto has shown an ability to adapt that isn't commonly seen though, so there is some hope.

Speaking of RB's Lucho decided to take Nili, who was brought in for the B team from Las Palmas with the team in Preseason.

Not sure if it's Lucho just wanting to test him but He's 6'1 and only 22 years old. It's probably nothing but just pointing it out there for an alternative RB to Vidal and Roberto for this season.

Theirs also Palencia as well.

I mean not the most Technically gifted RB out there but he's a hard worker. surprised he wasn't given a chance at Preseason with the 1st team.

I actually really like Palencia. Comparing him to Adriano, who can often be seen taking a light jog back to his box while we're conceding goals, I very much appreciate a defender who is always sticking his neck out to protect his keeper.

As always shacky defending but decent attacking. Dont think he could survive against a decent team in la liga. He is a winger maybe but as rb NO! Could have been a mistake not to buy a rb but lets see what will happen maybe he will improve who knows....

He survived at Sevilla at right back. And most of our full backs have shacky defending but decent attacking so he should fit right in.

Not true at all. Alves and Alba are both capable of doing a good job defending. Vidal isn't...

I wouldnt consider Alves and Alba good at defending, as our full backs have been Barca's weak point in defence for a few years now , in my opinion.
