Alen Halilović

I didn't watch the game but from the highlights he seems more comfortable in dribbling/1vs1 than in passing (he missed 3 easy ones) maybe his profile matches more playing at the wing or in false 9 position than in midfield.

Ye, you are right. He mostly played on the right wing or on the '10' position at Dinamo. His passing and play overall is just to risky/sloppy for a Barca midfielder. But it can change, he's only 18.

He's not even close to Iniesta, he can't dictate the tempo at all. He's a typical '10'

there won't be another Messi.

just one example why - becoming the all time top goalscorer for one of the elite European clubs at the age of 26 is unheard of...

if he avoids serious injury Alen is destined to be a future star though no doubt. kid looks ace.

Kaptoum and Samper will be the key midfielders for this Barcelona B, Halilovic is better as a false 9 or a winger, he is not a midfielder. Barcelona does not really play with a number 10, those are dying breed of soccer players.

false 9 is a redifined role of no 10. If you actually watch the games.

And this season messi will be playing no 10.

messi will be playing his own game as always. he might not score as he used to, but definitely will have double double stats.
and you are completely right about false 9. it is position made for players who can both create and score (attacking midfielders) but in regular basis.

he's actually right. Original no 10s (enganches) are very limited nowadays. Examples: Riquelme, Gourcuff.

Messi's role is essentially that of a mobile 10 with finishing skills. He can drop into midfield to retrieve/receive the ball and he can push forward to score goals himself as well as setting up his wide forwards or strikers. His abilities and skills are so much more than the classical 10 that the role he plays has been dubbed the false nine. However, Messi is hardly the first instance of a false nine. In recent memory, I can cite Spaletti's Roma as a team that utilized the false nine.
