Glad to see some optimistic people starting to emerge from all the doom and gloom. I understand their perspectives as well being that a CB was top priority, but who is to say that Song can not adapt to being more than just a CB cover or DM cover? Mascherano has opened a new page for us in terms of adaptability and new ideas, so perhaps Tito has seen this as an opportunity to use players in utility roles (Cesc, Messi, Mascherano, Adriano, etc). I'm encouraged about this signing, not necessarily because he is what we needed, but rather because of his versatility and mainly his cheap price tag. If he doesn't work out, we can't really say we broke the piggy bank to get him either right?
Welcome, Alex Song!!!
