His performances in the last two games were enough to convince me that he needs to stay. Dragging those defenders against Milan was a joy to watch and what a ball to play in Jordi.

He's a confidence player and he he's got some now. Hope he starts against Rayo.

He has been very good lately but that has never been his problem. It's his incosistency that is to be addressed if he wants to become a regular and no he didn't have that many injuries..

In September 2011, in the 3rd league match of his first season he got injured for 2 months and returned in December. In 2012 he had injuries in January, March and November. It's definitely hindered him.

Good to point out he also cut down his diving. Sometimes he slips, but gets back quickly on his feet.

He regained his confidence when going forward and beating his man, Because he's no longer obsessive about losing possession, Which i think was his biggest hinder The faith in his own abilities has been restored

Alexis always seems to divide opinions. Some say he will never be suited to Barca, some say he's back after 1 decent performance. The reality is somewhere in between. He should be given more chances to improve. But the fact is he has to improve much more to make a case for himself to stay past the summer especially with the imminent arrival of Neymar.

I don't think this is the problem. He's really been given a lot of playing time this season in general, and especially when you consider how bad he's been most of the time.

His recent performances indicate a possible improvement, though, and the staff should probably give him at least some playing time in several consecutive games to see where it goes from here.

He's had more than enough time, that's a poor excuse...He'll have to still do more the rest of the season if he's to remain going forward I feel...But I like his current form

People learn at different rates and Alexis is progressing. He has shown signs of understanding and applying la masia priciples such as the ball and the wall, the one touch passing and sideways pressing. I also think that has been his recent problem, in that he's concentrating on these priciples rather than playing his natural game. Once these principles become second nature to Alexis he'll be a beast. I'm just hoping the fans dont pressure him into being sold too soon.

He needs to do what Pedro does for 2 seasons now to get the love of the fans. Run around with his arms flailing like mad and never get into any goalscoring positions.

That's not why Pedro is loved, and he's been getting some stick as well.

"Mediocre" would be a bit of an overstatement for Pedro since 2011. Although credit to him for inventing a new position: the "wing-pivot". The midfield gives him the ball - the midfield gets it immediately back. Works like a charm.

 I'm laughing but it might be more accurate than defensive forward these days. Defensive forwards actually win the ball back and track of the ball runs. Pedro's being there and looking busy (the windmill arms ) make people think his work rate is the same it used to be back in 2011.

Pedro gets a lot less criticism than Alexis because he's a canterano, and also because of his sensational performances that contributed a lot to our 2009-11 seasons, however last season he wasn't better than Alxeis, and this season he hasn't been better than Alexis either. This is why the Alexis hate really got on my tits this year, and whenever I pointed this out I got a bunch of explanation about how Pedro is indispensable due to his hard work, pressing and understanding of our system, nearly all of which have been non existent since the start of last season. He and Alexis have been very similar this season, showing brief glimpses of brilliance, followed by terrible form and lack of confidence...and if we look back Villa went through a similar phase, I call it the playing next to Messi Syndrome.

+1 to the above couple of posts. Where were you guys when I was being shat on for pointing this out.
