Alexis Sanchez

I ADMIT DEFEAT.:banghead:
I've finally lost ALL patience with Alexis.
This latest display against Rayo has switched me over to the "Get Rid" camp.
An UNACCEPTABLE performance for a FCB player.
The SHOCKING MISS in the 55th minute from 10 yards, centre of goal, with little pressure from defenders was the straw that broke the Camels back.
A FCB quality Striker SHOULD NOT / CANNOT be missing those chances.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

And as soon we started to think he's turning it around he goes back to his old self. If we played any of our full backs in his position we would have got same pressure and double the return in attack. He is that awful as a forward.

I really want this guy to stay and prove his worth, but I highly doubt it now. His confidence is way too shaky. You need confidence to play for the best club in the world. I'm sure everyone knows he's got loads of talent, but that talent is useless when it doesn't come with confidence.

A few games where he teased us into thinking he turned a corner and then reverted back to prior form...I'm just bothered by how easily he seems to lose confidence...You'd think that he'd be able to shake it off and play through it but there's a real mental block at work

Back to his usual... dreadful. The patience testing ship has sailed. All I want is to wave goodbye on July 1st.

I think he was alright... After the miss he kinda lost his mojo, but still managed to set up Dani perfectly...

EDIT: And Barca forum goes back to its usual form too... Go figure...

he showed glimpses of awesomeness with great touches, dribbles and movement, but its like his brain switches off once he is in the penalty area, that miss and other times when he could have passed/shot but waited too long

Very true.

I think it's harsh to sum up his performance by that miss, it was bad yea but it wasn't as easy as sit looked, he had a few bodies in his way, but I agree he panicked, as he did on a couple of other occasions when he could have put an assist down yo his name. I still thought he troubled Rayo defenders and did some solid defensive work. I mean don't take his contribution lightly, he played his part in stretching Rayo allowing Messi/Villa/Alves to make runs.

You should know by now that no goal/assist means the player must be sold and condemned to 10 lashes and public stoning...

The miss wasn't that bad, even though I agree he should have buried it... But he still managed to create danger and should have got an assist if Dani could hit the ball properly in that one pass...

Not great, but not bad, decent performance if you ask me...

Wow, don't some people half exaggerate. If you're sitting there watching the player attentively and counting his fuck ups, then you will only notice his fuck ups. He messed up that chance and should have had an assist to his name near the end if it wasnt for a sloppy pass, but he also had some decent contributions.

In what league this counts as "a decent performance", I don't know... this guy is missing sitters left and right, losing possession, passing back every time he goes up front, and spending the rest of the time on the ground.

Started out the game VERY well and promising, missed a chance and his confidence plumetted. Seems to me like he gets himself a negative self-talk loop and takes himself out of the game and his confidence/mojo. Once he missed that first chance it was downhill from there (and he then missed another chance).

But like estranged said if you only focus on the negatives you'll only see the negatives. For the first half of the game he played very well and far better than Pedro has all season. You could just tell he was feeling it... he was beating defenders, playing solid passes/touches, everything.

He needs to get some of the mental strength Messi, Iniesta, Puyol etc possess. Gets too down on himself and becomes his worst enemy far too often, needs to chill and stay in his element.

The temperamental nature of the posters in here is astonishing, They complain about how alexis 'Reverted' back to his usual self, And neglect the fact they also 'Reverted' back to the usual rants, I'll give a summary of the posts.
He's good.
He's bad
He's good
He's bad
It's not even possible for a player's performance to be so unstable, A similar thing happenes in Cesc's thread, They can't hold a certain view for more than a game or two.
