So nice to see him breaking out of his slump and gaining his form and confidence back. It's been a streak of 3-4 games now where he's playing well, this one and the last being by far his best this season. At the beginning of the season he rated his own performance a 5/10 so I knew that he had the humility to know that he was sucking and was capable of much more. Good to see that that is starting to show through. Breaking out of his slump right when we need him too... nice

His second double of the season, both against Secunda sides (Cordoba and Mallorca). Heap the praise!

All jokes aside, it was one of his best games and he has been in good form, the only thing that can stop his form is another injury which seemed to happen to him at the end. I noticed it takes him about 10 games to get into good form finally and then he always gets hurt and has to take another 10 games to get into form again. Just an observation.

Honestly I'm glad for him but the fact remains... He can't beat his man 1v1. Rewatch the game abd look at how great Tello is at beating his opponent and then look at Sanchez. The difference is huge.

This slight comeback of his would do Barca good in any possible transfer negotiations. This should still be the #1 option.

Solid performace.
His good games this season were against relegation candidates but I'll take it.

He did do well against Milan. It was his second best game of the season IMO.
I do think he underperforms way too often though (although he's shown some promise in the last month or so).

I've said it before, but his ability to give an assist in the final 3rd is better than anybody apart from Messi. Brilliant second goal, great first touch to control the ball and then a sharp finish past the keeper. In the second half his movement was as bad as Messi, but hey he was saving his energy for PSG I guess. I was disappointed when Cesc came off that Alexis stayed up as a number 9. I would have liked to see him drop deeper and play as the false 9, it would have helped the team get better control of the game in the second half.

League assists for Barca this season.

14 - Iniesta
11 - Messi
10 - Cesc
6 - Alexis
5 - Pedro
5 - Xavi
5 - Dani Alves
5 - Alba
4 - Tello
4 - Villa
2 - Thiago
2 - Busquets
1 - Adriano

Alexis is probably the only Barca player that annoys me... Against Mallorca, even though he had an otherwise very good first half, when he received a perfect cross from Tello instead of scoring to an empty net, he dived and he was asking for a penalty. His behaviour is unacceptable for my liking.

Sell Xavi NOW!

Nah, but in the infamous "jugadorazo" interview he said: "I'm not the kind of player who will score 3 goals, but maybe I can score one or give the pass to a team mate to score, that's the kind of player I am", which seems quite accurate, even if he still needs sorting some stuff out...

Regarding that cross from Tello, it's not the first time he misses a goal like that, his position is sort of weird, he looks likes he is out to intercept the ball not to tap it in...

Anyway, I'm satisfied with his last performance, 2 goals and 2 assist (first one was brilliant) are a good return despite the weakness of the opponent...

@barcastuff: Johan Cruyff (ex-Barcelona): "Alexis Sanchez gets a lot of criticism, but he's a quality player who adds something different to Barça."

@barcastuff: Cruyff (ex-Barcelona): "Against Mallorca, Alexis was decisive. Of course he's no Messi, but Barça can be happy to have him." [telegraaf]

Cruyff knows.
