Lahm had a weak year. He's not even the best RB in the world anymore (Alves is currently), let alone a top 10 player. Robben was injured for a large part of the season, so he's out of my top 10 for 2015. James, Aguero, Hazard and Alexis are very close IMO. Only Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Suarez are better. Neuer's season was not amazing as well, not Better than De Gea and Buffon this season.

I'd say

Only field players:

1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Neymar
4. Suarez (played 4 months less)
5. Hazard
6. Aguero
7. Sanchez
8. James
9. Busquets
10. Pique

*Modric, Robben, Alaba were injured for the most important part of the season, so they're out.
*5-7 can be put in any order.

Thiago Silva, Thiago, Rakitic, Pogba, Tevez, Fabregas, Isco, Muller, Lewandowski just missed the top.

Forwards cost more primarily because they have bigger marketing potential, thus a higher commercial value. They are in the spotlight, they score the goals. That obviously has nothing to do with how good they are compared to midfielders and defenders. Thats just silly talk.

Really, then why do people talk about the greatest player ever and they say the names of Messi, Maradona, Pele? People on this site should never say Messi is the Greatest Ever, because there is no way to know if he's better than the likes of Maldini and Baresi for example. When people talk about he best players they mean attacking players even when they don't say it. That's just how it is. You can agree with this or not. It doesn't make it less true.

Then you should say top 10 performers this season not top 10 generally.

Top 10 for 2014/15 season.

If Alexis had played for Celta, I am pretty sure he would have done worse than Nolito.

Players are just instantly overrated once they get exposure in the EPL. Alexis is a decent player, but is just not world class.

That's why you have Thiago in there, who has barely played for 2 years?

You have to make up your mind. Who had a good season, or who is the best?

Thiago played last season in the most important part of it. But yea, you're right, didn't catch the whole season, just a part, he shouldn't be on the list, same as Robben, Modric and Alaba.

This is the part when you sound way too biased. Alexis is a decent player, and yet, most pundits in England have him in the team of the season. Alexis is one of the best in the world in his position, and that's pretty much what the general consensus about him is at the moment.

Do you really think Alexis would have done better than Nolito if he played for Celta? You mentioned Alexis having 29 goals+assists in his "great season" for Barca. Nolito almost had the same this year for freakin' Celta.

The "general consensus" is heavily biased, thats just the way it is. :)

Let's take a guy like Marco Verratti. If he played in the EPL, he would have been hailed as the second coming. Instead, he is just ignored. By you and most other so-called English pundits.

There is also an advantage playing for a team where you are the star player. Alexis is a better player than Nolito, so yes, I think he would have done better.

Marco Verratti is much like Pogba. A very good player that is still developing. Potential to be the best player in the world in his position in the near future, but not quite there yet. Is he better than Busquets at the moment? Not for me.

We've had a great attack for years, sure having MSN is massive...but when our attack the last few seasons wasn't able to score, our midfield and especially defense weren't able to step up and keep us in games.

This is why players like Rakitic, Busquets and Pique having a good season is just as important as any one of the forwards. Messi scored almost 80 goals in 11/12 and we struggled against any kind of organized team. To me, this season was less about our front three being amazing (and they definitely are) and more about the rest of the team, especially our midfield, not only having clear roles but executing the roles perfectly. Busquets was himself again after have some very average seasons, Iniesta adopted a different role and Rakitic shouldered such a huge burden that I feel many people either done realize or appreciate how important it was for us.

Pique was just an animal, plain and simple.

Sanchez scored some big goals for Arsenal and he carried them in a certain way through those goals, but it doesn't tell the whole story...and it's Arsenal. His decision making was still overall dreadful and was a frustarting player to watch. Arsenal is also a perfectly good example of how a team can do well without having a class strikers.

It´s always easier in EPL because there is lot of space and teams are naive in terms of defending, except Chelsea.
Alexis is a great player.

Where did you all build the notion from that if a player doesn't fit Barca he is not world class?

Do you measure everything by Barca standards? DELUDED

Facepalm everytime I see the La Liga > EPL blunt argument, as if a league of 2 contenders is better than one of 5 just because 2 teams happen to have "the best players in the world". Elaborate a little more, use stats, etc.

Blunt argument? Barca struggled far more against Valencia and Sevilla than against the English champions Man City. For good reason. Valencia and Sevilla are amazing teams. Spanish teams' performance in Europe speaks for itself. If Barca, RM and Atletico played in the EPL, it would have been a league of 3 contenders + Chelsea.
