Nah you are speaking nonsense.

The coach has an input on signings at all top clubs.

Other than likes of Watford where coaches come and go with the wind but in all top club the coaches are part of the transfer committee and have input on signings.

Targets can be identified in variety of ways.. analytics, scouting, coaching staff preferences and all gets discussed and decision made.

The more high profile/succesfull the coach the more influence they can have as risk of them not being there plays into it as well.

How much you think is acceptable to spend on Morata?

Personally wouldn't want spend more than 10-15m on him. I don't really want him here. And obviously 15m isn't going to get you Morata.

Best case would a loan for 6 months. I'd be content without a buy option as well.

Coaches always have in input to the players signed at any top club and that influence grows the more the coachs position is strong at a club.

It is never about coach just identifying a position and Sporting Director takes it from there.

Morata improves current Barca until end of season and is better CF for Xavis style than LDJ and Depay but the issue is if he is the long term plan.

Clubs like Chelsea have bought players that they deem good market opportunities even if the coach wants them or not.
