I have actually joined the forum to share opinion that this player gomes does not start against atletico madrid such is my frustration regarding this dude.

Gomes needs time to adapt to Barca style. Even world class players like Henry,Suarez and Neymar needed some time to adapt. But more and more I'm afraid Gomes is just not the class of a player Barca needs. He has potential but some players can be great in clubs like Valencia and fail in big clubs like Barcelona. Wouldn't be the first player nor the last one. We will see, I wish him all well..

Average player. Never Barca quality. If you want to wait for him to "adapt" you'll have to wait forever. Its painfully obvious he doesnt have the "potential" and it was obvious when we signed him as well.

Very good post. Maybe there just are not enough good players in the world to fit the roles that barca needs and to match your expectation.

The role Neymar plays, for me is a very difficult role along with the right back for some reason.
Any players who have played in these roles for Barcelona have been ripped to shreds in the forums.
Wether it's Roberto, Vidal, Alves. The right back gets more exposed than the left back.

Same with the left winger when compared to the right hand side where Messi drifts in and we all know no one can touch Messi so I think it's just a matter of not enough stars out there to match the expectations.

I think if you put Kroos in there for Gomes, he would turn shit. If you put another decent right back in the world at right back for Barcelona he would turn shit lol.

So what do you do? Maybe change the whole system with doggy type DM's. I think so because once Iniesta has gone. Kiss goodbye to 4-3-3. The midfield will need to be more packed with slightly less talented players.

Because if not and once the opposition controls the midfield, MSN is as good as a dead man walking. lol

Has he not played out wide for Portugal and did in euros?

in this formation with Messi central may be the man for that job!

We're basically into March and I can confidently say I was more impressed with Alex Song in his first season at Barca than this guy.
