Even if he doesn't turn out to realize his potential, he'll give us enough time to find a proper Iniesta replacement and cash in on him too, as Mendes will find a way for us to recoup the transfer fee.

Need to give him a chance first though. Besides, it's not like there's an array of World Class CMs in the World right now.

There's many young talented ones though, that needs at least a couple of years to reach a great level.

His first season at Valencia was good. His second wasn't as good but then Valencia was a horror show. He's talented and the fans seem pissed about losing him for so little. They say he has a really good engine and work rate and has a lot of potential though he's not quite Barça starting caliber yet.

If this really was revenge for the Danilo deal, it's dumb.

Like he's good but he isn't a control MF which is really what we needed if we were going to add to our MF. Hard to judge his impact on a game with either Valencia or Portugal because they played so defensive but my biggest question with him is can he control a game better than Rakitic? Is he a better passer than Rakitic?

It's hard to say either way but unless we are selling a MF to free up a big 4th striker signing, to make this move purely out of spite doesn't seem wise.

3. It's your and this board popular opinion that we needed a "control MF" not Lucho's. We won't have a midfielder like Xavi probably ever again so we should stop looking for his "clone" when buying midfielders. Lucho has changed the focus of this team from strong midfield to MSN and he's willing to give up some of midfield control. We should accept that we won't go back to the times of Pep's tiki-taka but we can still be successfull as we have been over the last two seasons.

Gomes will undoubtely bring his qualities to the team. I wasn't really expecting we'll sign him (or any other midfielder beside Denis) this season but now that he's here he deserves to get a fair chance. I think he'll be a very good player for us.

4. We'll get backup forward as well. We can move some money from next year transfer budget as there is very likely we won't need to invest big next summer. Only possible position to improve would be RB if Roberto/Vidal don't work out but I think they (at least one of them) will. Other positions will be all well covered.

Madrid media were mad as hell when Neymar confirmed he was extending his contract.

and now they are mad with Gomes choosing us over Madrid.

I love it, now I expect them to constantly go on and say "Perez and Zidane" were fooling us all along and didn't want him!

Ofcourse. They'll probably report soleday that Barça will pay 50% of Danilos salary and transfer just because we wanted him.
