His confidence is shot. And what made it worse was Lucho's handling of Gomes through out this season. Gomes clearly struggled to adapt But Lucho's insistence of playing him no matter what hurt Gomes more than it has helped him and hurt the team as well.

Maybe Valverde can do something Lucho couldn't do with Gomes.
