André Gomes

He's not going anywhere. Sooner his haters accept that better for their health.

United could contact us but clubs are doing this all the time about almost every player whose situation at club is not totally clear. That doesn't mean they are interested or that they'll even make a serious offer. Knowing our history of selling they might make a lowball offer like 20M or so to see if we'll grab. But there is no way I'd sell him just to sell him and make people happy. I prefer to keep him for another season to see how he'll do in Valverde's system. He will still be young next summer and will have 3 years of contract left so if he won't improve we can always sell him next year. With Mendes as his agent his market value won't drop that much even if he has another bad season. But I expect him to do much better.

dont see "the whim" moving unless its some outlandish bid. the board/technical staff whoever still harbour hopes he can be a ballack like player for the club..

If we get anything above 20m I'll personally pay for Gomes' cab ride to the airport. We need to cash in and NOW, no club is going to buy him next season after he miserably flops yet again.

Its not just for the sake of selling. If he gets sold we get another 25-30m to invest into another player, which will be of huge help. Selling Gomes, Arda, Mathieu would get us around 50m to invest in Dembele or Bellerin.

edit: Forgot we have some loaned out players too. If we sell Tello, Vermaelen and Munir we have another possible 20m.

Look at our history of selling before counting on those prices. We are more likely to get 0m than these figures you present.

He's got a lot of potential. That last season of lucho was a train wreck. Let's see how he does under the new manager...

I read the article but here's a better translation of it.

No Mention of Rafinha either when I read the article, so Arda, Rafinha and Mathieu are the likely outs.

This seems idiotic of Valverde but hopefully he doesn't try forcing Gomes into our starting XI in a CL knockout round when he hasn't had a single starter worthy performance all season. This could potentially ruin his chances as Barca manager. I hope he has a plan because surely even he recognizes how bad Gomes has been and how reviled he is by the majority of the fanbase.
