I don't think he did play well. I think at that point - most footballers could have played average to good. It is about context. Not the emotional stuff you are going on about - about being 'pissed off' or trying to hard. Pre assist in a game that is over is trying to hard. Gomes is useless. Even the commentators stated Barca tried with their all might to get rid of him this summer due to him not being good enough for Barcelona - but failed.

I have to say I was a little bit surprised by his performance today. That pre-assist was very good, but his overall liveliness was the thing I liked the most.
Maybe he realized this season is do or die for him in Barca and will finally show us something of his supposed talent.

Oh yea. You should have seen Gomes in Valencia. If he had stayed a few more seasons - a break-out season was definitely on the cards. He just needed more time.
