We have nothing to lose but everything to gain here. Every player under Valverde became a run of games to prove they are worth to be in the squad. Deulofeu got his and failed. Denis got his and was average. Vidal was imo better than Deulofeu but nothing special either. The only one who took his chance is Paco. Unfortunately, he got injured. Gomes becomes his chance now since he was injured for a month and was the one who had the fewest minutes out of all of them. Since Coutinho is injured and Iniesta won't play all games now is the time to give Gomes a bunch of games to prove his worth.

In the best case Gomes proves that his Celta and Levante cameos weren't one-hit-wonders and we have somewhat of a luxury problem in midfield, in the worst case he shows again that Barcelona is too big for him and gets sold in summer. Out of all mentioned above he still will bring us the most money if we decide to sell him.

I think it’s the left midfielder in a 4-4-2. Iniesta ‘s position in our system. He plays there for Portugal too.

Gomes has been better this season, but he'll never be a starter at Barca. He also need to be more impactful whenever he comes in and he simply isn't enough of that for me.

With Rakitic playing the CDM so well when he's stepped in, I don't see a place for him at the club. A luxury sub who would be better off somewhere else with us getting a more impactful player in.

Wouldn't mind bringing in Fekir if we can offload him for 35-45m in the summer, although I'm not sure it's feasible. He definitely want to play at Barca though and Aulas and Barto are best buddies
