Gomes is one of the fastest in the squad and Rakitic is THE slowest member of the Barca SQUAD ..

He is certainly NOT agile, which is what counts here. He may be fast when running into space with the ball, but it counts for nothing, when you're Barcelona player. Xavi and Iniesta are slower than him running, but are super agile and fast thinking, nothing of which can be said about Gomes. He also always gives the bamby on ice vibe even when succeeding to control the ball. It always seems such a struggle for him. No amount of confidence can change that. He simply wont ever be good Barca player.

He is stronger on the ball than Paulinho imo (Gomes doesn't lose the ball that often although Paulinho offers different qualities). Great, intelligent movements and runs off the ball, covered well when Semedo went forward and always provides a pass option for the ball carrier. Does also well with shortpasses now and always tried to make a quick pass forward when there was an option. Once he was a weak link in a not so good team, now he seems not to be inferior to his teammates in a strong Barcelona-team.

He will be a good option in Champions League since Iniesta can't play a whole game.
