I feel really bad for this guy. You could see in his face last night that he was totally scared. Absolutely zero confidence... But its good that teamates (seen in the video- stegen, suarez were trying to boost his confidence) are supporting him, the same they do with dembele.

Semedo was signed to be a starting RB and finally end Roberto's suffering at RB. So far, aside from his last game where he got injured, he's basically been our RB Digne. Mina doesn't even make match squads after having a poor display in his debut (Yes it was a poor debut, he almost costed us the game) and with Arthur set to join, Paulinho for better or worse being a manager's favorite, and Coutinho being our long term pursuit, he's likely to be gone by January 2019.

I am not BBZ and I can count on one hand how often BBZ and I have agreed on something, but seeing the writing on the wall when it's written in bold and right in your face isn't very hard to do.

Please keep him, we need the bonus money :D In all honesty, he just doesn't have it in him, the technical part I mean. Perhaps he'd be better suited to the PL

Saw Messi give him a warm hug after the game that was cool to see.

Messi's attitude is important. When he turned on Arda, Arda was done with this team. When Messi asked Paulinho to come to Barca, Paulinho joined the team.

Anyway, I might be in the minority, but I thought what we saw from Gomes last game was better than what we've been seeing from Vidal. Valverde does not like putting Vidal or Paulinho way over on the left, so I expect Gomes to start vs. Chelsea.

On the booing of Gomes: I don't like it, but I do understand. Gomes being jeered is just as much of a message to the manager as it is the player. They are saying "Why do you play this guy? He sucks," in the only way Valverde cannot ignore. The boos no doubt will cause Gomes a lot of stress and he won't be able to perform like that, but the fans already know he will be bad no matter what, so it doesn't matter.

I said this last season when Gomes got booed that I believe fans at the stadium doing it loudly enough to be noticed by everyone is a very powerful statement and can be quite influential in helping the team improve. If Valverde is too stubborn or stupid to recognize Gomes is completely out of his depth, this will likely continue, and no matter how much posters here, the players, the board members, the manager, etc try to say otherwise, the people doing the jeering are true fans, they just want the team to better, and it can't be that with Gomes playing.

Remember the time the majority of this forum thought sergi roberto was shit and would never come good at barca even after all the years he spent her

Booing Gomes is incredibly harsh imo, boo Valverde if you're going to boo anyone. (not that I agree with it) we are still unbeaten in laliga with everything to play for, Arsenal players and Wenger get justifiable boos. Gomes afaik hasn't shown any kind of disrespect or half ass'd effort, he just isn't good enough

Couldn’t have said it any better. It’s like getting that one hurtful insult from someone yet deep down you know damn well that insult had a truth bomb to it.
