Erm, why? One in unproven in a strong league and the other is plain mediocre. We need far better players than that if we're to keep moving forward. Arshavin would've been perfect imo.

Nothing could've been done really, IMHO...Zenit played a bizarre negotiating stance...It cost Arshavin his dream move and Barca their first choice over Hleb

We need somebody to take Henry's place for next year or two. Somebody with experience, until Pedro gain some more of it. So 28 Arshavin for a 2 years or some is perfect imo.
