I first got the chance to watch Barca regularly when I found some, er, interesting sites on the net with live broadcasts from China. At that point, I knew about Henry, Messi etc - the usual suspects. But I didn't know about Iniesta. I remember watching him move from the left to the right, then the middle, back to the left... He was doing everything everywhere, and he could dribble too. I remember thinking, "Who is this guy?" Finally, his sensational goal against Chelsea proved he can finish when it counts.
I think Iniesta sums up in his personality and attitude as much as his general all round footballing ability just what Barcelona is all about. Like Leandro, the little-remembered Brazilian player of the 1982 World Cup, there were others that got the headlines in the team, but he was the one doing a lot of the great stuff behind them. Iniesta is my favourite player, and definitely one of the best players in the world.
Welcome to the forum :beer2:
Agreed on Iniesta... His contribution is often underestimated. I remember running a Man of the Match thread on old forum 3 years ago and we were surprised at results when I counted the numbers and saw that Iniesta got the most points eventhough he wasn`t the MoM most of the times. Conclusion: Iniesta rarely puts a below par performance.
