Iniesta is the most underrated player in the world. I'm sick of people putting Messi and Cristiano on top and putting all kinds of overexposed mediocre players next. It's ridiculous. For many people, Iniesta #2 behind Messi, but for some, the likes of Suarez  and Gareth Bale    are ahead of him...

Bale ahead of Iniesta
but its normal, people value spectacular goals and assists that come once, twice every month more than the stuff Iniesta does every time he gets on the ball, that is unfortunately the reason he is so underrated and why people value Zidane higher than him

Anybody else think Iniesta is due an absolute golazo where he runs by a few players or does something incredible? He missed the chance he created after his turn against PSG and there are plenty of times when he runs runs by a number of players but doesn't shoot. I reckon soon he'll score after one of these runs, hopefully against Bayern. :D

He's borderline overrated - just like Zidane. He had a period very early in the season where he was outshining Messi, scoring and assisting, get a bit of conistency like that and maybe the praise will be justified.

He's incredibly talented, but anyone who says he's as good as/better than Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo is delusional, even by a Barcelona fans standard!

He has won a lot more than Ronaldo and even than Messi and was critical and majestical in all of Spains recent successes. Ronaldo is inflated by his goals but skill wise he isn't even half the player Iniesta is. Sure, Ronaldo is more important but better ? Not in a million years.

He may have won more for Club and Country, doesn't make him a better player. Individually Ronaldo's won plenty more - individual success rather than team success.

Iniesta is a fantastic player and you could even make a case for him being the ultimate big game player - but until he strings together the same sort of consistency as Messi and Ronaldo and contributes more to the team than just 'assisting the assister', he's not to be put in the same bracket as either. As a Chelsea fan, you could make the same argument for Drogba. BIG game player, but never consistent enough to be considered alongside someone like Henry.

And what has Ronaldos 'individual' success contributed to his teams success ? Consistency doesn't make you a better player than someone other, it's not like Iniesta doesn't perform for 5 games in a row.

Mata is a fucking great player, I have absoloutely no time for people cunting him off in comparisons with Iniesta. What Mata is doing for us right now is nothing short of incredible. 18 goals and 30 assists in a horrendous season by our massively high standards since 2003, he's the closest to producing the equivalent numbers for a creative midfielder to a Messi/Ronaldo. Even in Xavi's best season he never managed the same goal output despite getting similar number of assists (in a considerably better team too).

Mata doesn't quite have Iniesta's elegance on the ball - but he's closer to Iniesta than Iniesta is to Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. On the subject of Zidane, it's the exact same here. He personfied elegance on the ball, yet as a creator and scorer, his numbers were weak, and he lacked the consistency to ever be considered better than Ronaldo in the same time frame, even more so after what Ronaldo did after two horrendous injuries.

Mata is overrated, it is what it is.
