Ángel Di María

A stupid statement required a stupid response. No player, neither Messi nor Ronaldo, can consistently score without service. It's supposed to imply that Ronaldo can score goals perfectly well without Di Maria's service.

I think and hope that you're trolling, because similar posts can be made with Xavi assisting Messi, followed by posts of 'Messi will be useless without Xavi giving him service'.

The fact is that 90% of the goals that C.ronaldo scores is him being played through on goal by a teammate and all he has to is make a clinical finish. So while he might have exagerated, it was by no means a total lie seeing as he relies alot on his teammate creating those chances for him. And while Messi, like everyone else, relies also on his teammates, he doesn't relies on them creating chances for him as much as C.Ronaldo. Same thing with Di Maria. He doesn't score as much, not even close, but he can create things all by himself alot easier than C.Ronaldo.

+1
Always did.

And he didn't just frightened me more than C.ronaldo, he frightened me the most of any player's that we played against. I mean, C.ronaldo scored more against us, while Özil assisted more against us, but Di Maria frightened me more than both of them..

I wonder what the people here would think if Barca had given Neymar to Madrid in exchange for Di Maria (plus some cash from Madrid). I know that Neymar has a higher ceiling but he's not even a star player IMO much less a superstar and right now it doesn't look like he's going to live up to expectations. Di Maria would've given us something different that this team needs (workrate and runs off the ball and with his defensive pressing). The only quality that at this point Neymar has that Di Maria doesn't is better finishing/goal-scoring instinct (and not by THAT much) but with Messi and Suarez......is goal-scoring really the big problem at Barca. We needed to add a player who gives us something different in the final third.

And Di Maria frightened me when he pressed our defenders or midfielders during the Clasicos. He really hunted the ball down with a ferocity that I hadn't seen from any other Madrid player. They're going to miss Di Maria's defensive work during the Clasicos. I hope Jese stays injured and they overplay Bale. And as much as I respect Di Maria, Madrid's most important player from a 'team' perspective was Alonso. When he didn't play Madrid's defense looked much more vulnerable and his accurate long-range passing was an extremely vital part of their counter-attacking strategy. IMO his injury problem at the beginning of last season was one of the main reasons for Madrid's mediocre first half of the season (by their standards).

Nope I wouldn't trade Neyboy for Di Maria... And I think Neymar IS a star player for his national team already at 22 and not far away being a star at Barca. Di Maria was nowhere near that at that age.

Di Maria and Messi connection would have been supernatural, if the 10 lung rat had played in the World cup final with Messi then Argies would have won against Germany.

Neymar for Di Maria?? No way. Neymar is slightly better player than Di Maria imo. It is just that Neymar did not completely adjust to barca yet. Neymar is a star for Brazil NT at the age of 19. Once neymar fits in you won't have such thoughts I guarantee you.

please don't call him a rat. It's disrespectful and Di Maria didn't deserve it.

Would have been an upgrade, at least from what I've seen of Neymar so far. I agree, Di Maria is scary. Neymar has been easily stopped in La Liga. If nothing else, just foul him, and he goes down easy. And, to be honest, Neymar would do better with RM's counterattacking style, would have the space to do what he does best- take on players in open space.

Neymar will go on to be a better player than Di Maria and probably is already.

Di Maria has gone from under valued by Real to rated way above what he is as people think Real are foolish to let him go.

Di Maria would give us something different that our other forwards haven't and plus his pressing and defensive work would be a huge asset for us given how much of that has gone missing in recent times. I haven't seen any attacking player who does a better job of pressing than Angel. Neymar wasn't just unimpressive offensively for us but he was pretty poor with his defensive covering and pressing as well. Sometimes it's not always about getting the best player but getting the right player (and IMO Neymar isn't a better player right now and there is no guarantee that he'll become one either-ppl seemed to be waiting on Fabregas forever to become an influential player for Barca).
