Yes it is a better basic salary but you must factor in the huge bonuses we provide. We will win loads more titles than Atletico.
And chances are his contract would be renegotiated after 2/3 years plus another huge signing bonus

Out of respect for his club, he would've told them his decision already. Assuming the news is right about them preparing a new contract, it seems they have reached an initial agreement and Griezmann is only waiting to go over the contract. Him, his wife and his family had almost 6-7 months to think about, not deciding has to do with ATM new offer. He actually used us to get a better contract just like many other players did before.

He probably didn't think Atleti would offer him such a huge deal and know has to reconsider, which is probably the wait.

Tells you just how desperate Atletico are to keep Griezmann. That's the most they have ever offered a single player in their history since Atletico aren't exactly known for their high wages/financial power compared to Real and us.
Honestly I get Griezmann's dilemma. Stay at Atletico can get a massive pay day out of it or Leave and play for a team that has the likes of Messi which a bigger chance at trophies. For me Griez certainly deserves more trophies than what he's gotten so far no question.
I'm pretty much at this point like the Neymar Saga, last year I was like if he goes he goes if he stays whatever. here same thing if he comes that's great if not oh well.

Greizman would have been a big miss if he was that one piece missing in our puzzle. Arguably, he could have been an integral part of fixing our decaying XI, but the problem is we all know that the donkey we have as manager is never going to bench Suarez, let's be real.
Given that, it's not the biggest miss in the world if he doesn't come. If we manage to get a WC midfielder in lieu of him, wouldn't be that bad. Unfortunately we desperately do need a Suarez replacement, which is pointless if we refuse to bench him, so catch 22.

I see the financial experts are out in force again , quoting all kinds of ridiculous figures that are complete fantasy. Nobody knows what hes on or what hes been offered.
I dont even think we have made him any offer either and thats maybe why hes looking at signing a new deal at AM. If anything happens the only thing thats certain is he will go to who ever gives him the most cash just like 99% of all players these days.
Its no great loss if we dont get him , his best days are gone.

Exactly, I posted an opinion not actual figures that are just made up nonsense. Nobody knows what he earns or what hes been offered by any other team and yet they still come on here and post absolute garbage.

What this team needs is a top-class midfielder. A goal scorer is hardly what we need and Barcelona outscored every team in Europe besides City and PSG.

I agree we need a top class midfielder more than we need a scorer right now. But we need a scorer too. Both Suarez and Messi are declining in the scoring department (relatively) and you can't always just rely on Messi to score. Also for future purposes we need scorers.
