Signed a handshake contract for July?

The Griezmann clause is currently 200 m away.
It will go down to 100 in July.
This media tells us that it has already signed since March.
there was no negotiation between Barça and Atletico.si it's really signed, which means that the club paid 200 million euros for the transfer of Griz.
Nothing has been signed yet, for me it's obvious.
it's just a verbal agreement.

Signing Griezmann for 120M and 17M net salary to play him on LW (where he didn't play for like 5 years or so) just as an "upgrade" on 130M young Dembele while old donkey Suarez gets to keep his spot with just some Paco level player (who gets the Malcom treatment by GOATverde) behind him would be as illogical as it gets.

If that is the position they want Griezmann for then it's just a waste of resources. Griezmann wouldn't be my favorite choice to replace Suarez but at least it would make sense to invest the big bucks there since Suarez is 32 and visibly declining instead of creating another Dembele/Coutinho situation on the left for no real reason.

Just sign a real LW in that case, you would think after Dembele (better on RW), Coutinho (AM) and Malcom (RW) that would be the choice but no, here were are talking about if we should try Griezmann (2nd striker) there next. That would be 400+ mil on different signings trying to find a replacement for Neymar who left 2 years ago.

Kicking out Dembele from the starting 11 while cementing Suarez in the middle and hoping that by some miracle 2019 Griezmann-Suarez-Messi turns into 2015 MSN would be horrible but it looks like that's exactly what Barto and friends are imagining.

Well, this was expected. He wouldn't announce leaving AM if he wouldn't have a deal in place. But we still have to wait for another month for his clause to drop and I expect rumours will emerge in the meantime linking him to PSG/United and other clubs. It's clear he's coming here though.

Also, Dembele first has to prove he can stay healthy and in form for more than 2-3 months before people can complain about EV being stupid to "bench" him.

If he'll play like he did at the start of this season then he won't have troubles getting playing time, Griezmann here or not. If he'll be injured or rusty coming back from injury then it will be good to have someone who will be actually fit. Griezmann is a true workhorse, I think he has missed only a few games in his 5 years at Atletico due to injury.

Hard to prove anything if you don't get a fair chance and we all know that's what will happen. Signing Griezmann with Valverde staying would mean Dembele is out. Either that or Griezmann ends as Coutinho 2.0. At this point we all know there isn't real competition, flexibility and constant rotation with Valverde and i don't think super expensive Griezmann would be the start of it.

Doesn't sound amazing enough for me to sign that 28 year old clown for 120M and pay him 17M net per season. Maybe that's just me but a 120+ mil bench player is just ridiculous no matter who of the two it is. IMO he either can fight Suarez for his spot or shouldn't be signed. I mean nobody knows if he would even work out next to Messi and Suarez and even if he would work there it would be Valverdes excuse to finally kill off Dembeles Barca career what would just make future planning even more difficult. I don't see that much to win here but a lot to lose.

Yeah, talk about false eqivalence. What a shit argument. Theres a difference between wanting to play with 2 fast wingers/second strikers+Messi and playing fucking Coutinho-Messi-Roberto. We still have a very viable centre forward (Suarez), whos going nowhere. So getting a less conventional 9 or winger isnt the worst option for us. Though I am not sure Griezmann is the best choice.

Its not just Barca fans, even fans of other clubs, journalists, pundits are criticizing Valverde. I respect Valverde for his contributions, but we play absolute boring football, and bottled two integral CL games. I don't see any reason to support him further. He had his chance here, he blew it.
