Let me give you some more sources :

https://www.republicworld.com/sport...ff-making-it-epls-largest-ever-wage-bill.html
http://www.insideworldfootball.com/...loss-man-city-wage-bill-streaks-past-man-utd/

And as The times article said, it was a year where not many bonus may have been activated due to Carabao cup being the only trophy won.

The year before, according to UEFA, Manchester City were already paying ?267 millions :

https://www.sportbible.com/football...20-highest-club-wage-bills-in-europe-20200116

And your claim about it being due to staff and not players wage is ridiculous. UEFA do the auditing of all clubs, so they take into account staff cost as well. And do you really want to make us think that City would pay only 116 millions for their players and 235 millions for their staff ? Txiki and Soriano are eating well then i guess.

You're wrong. It also includes staff. Do you not realize how many staff has at their club?

You are hilarious.

Football is in the entertainment business. When they are making a movie, there are a lot of people on top of the only people you see on screen. Many more in fact. Yet, the actors (and the director, here Pep) will eat the main portion of the budget while the assistants are overworked and not well paid. The actors are the players in that case.

And again, the staff cost is taken into account for ALL CLUBS in UEFA reporting, not only Manchester City. Are City staffs special to be so expensive compared to ALL the clubs in the planet ?

Why is it surreal for you ? If Barca wasn't dishing out these insane wages they wouldn't be in this mess.

Because nobody else would pay him that much (if it's net). Barca might be generous, but they cannot be that dumb to gift him double the money he can get elsewhere.

It?s okay to be wrong. You thought it was just the salary of the players and now you?re trying to fight it.

Do you honestly believe that 22 players are getting 351m GBP between them? If that?s the case, they?re earning way more than our team?. and we?re fucked. Man City?s owner actually do a good job at keeping their wage bill down?. Unlike our previous owners.

But wasn't that what he was earning at Atletico as well ?

Edit : We are talking about 44M~ gross right ?

Good to see that you are finally admitting that you are a City fan. @Fati I found a friend for you.

You think you have made a point ?

Well then i guess you can keep your head in the sand. Manchester City have reportedly the highest wage bill in the Premier League but they have been doing a good job at keeping the wage bill down. Yeah.

Players are only being paid 116 millions while they pay their accountants 100 000 a month just because. I mean they let the players wage bill low so they might as well get the staff wage bill high.

Great job Khaldoom and thank you for your insight xxxxxx.

44M gross is plausible. That's on par with the EPL's highest-paid players. Malvolio said it was surreal he was on 44M net.

All started with people arguing City would never pay him double the money they pay KdB (20ish M).

I realized after your post that we weren't discussing the same figure. Then I realized that xxxx multiplies Barca wages by 2x while dividing City's by 2.

They are our players and the video took place during the club tour in Japan in 2019 so naturally they would look to the club for some sort of answer and response.

We should just publicly come out and acknowledge it and apologize to nip this thing in the bud. Our hands are full, we don't need more shit like this right now.

actually i thought it is outrages we gave him 20M net. he had no business being on that money. even more so when we payed 120M fee for his transfer.

It's not shocking or surprising we more or less matched his Atletico salary, but 40-46m gross after paying 120m + 10m extra to Atletico to avoid them taking us to FIFA's tribunal is kinda outrageous

Oh  I made the mess. But Griezmann isn't earning double the money KdB is on then. They're roughly paid the same.

Anyway.

He'll probably have to take a paycut if he moves to another team, but I don't think it would be a drastic one. Griezmann is one player I can see accepting less money to be the main star of a team again, or at least one of the players the team is built around where he can play in his natural position.

That won't happen at Barca unless Messi leaves and I'm not sure I would want to be Antoine Griezmann replacing Leo Messi with a full Camp Nou if he keep underperforming. It's almost a lose-lose situation no matter how you see it. For both the club and him personally.
