I'm always wary at these reported wages on different sites because they seem to often mix up gross and net salaries and then people take those numbers as absolutely true (when in reality they're just estimations because no wages are public unlike in US professional leagues) and they use them for comparisions without considering whether those numbers are gross or net.

If you look here it says Saul's weekly wage is 300k and his base salary is 14.4m.

And then for Joao Felix weekly wage 250k and base salary 7.2m.

It just doesn't add up. And then you have reports from Sport/MD that Felix's wages are higher than Saul's so he'd be harder to get in a potential swap (not mentioning a real reason for that is because AM is just less likely to give up on him).

I could be wrong but I think Sauil is on around 14m gross/7m net. There were reports Barca is offering him 5-6m net so he would need to take some pay cut but it's questionable if other interested clubs in him would really offer him all that much more so he'd probably need to take a pay cut wherever he'd go. But it's not like he'd go from 14m net to 5-6m net. If he'd really be on 14m net then I seriously doubt he would even consider leaving Atletico.

No to Gimenez. He's good but quite injury prone. No major injuries but a lot of smaller muscular and other issues. He missed 35 games in last two seasons.

It's not like they would give him up anyway, Cholo still likes him.

The gap in quality between those two are huge tbf.
Another season and they will barely be able to get anything for Felix tbh, especially if they bring Griezmann back which will mean no minutes for Felix.
