His contract ends in 2020, so I expect him to stay in the club for two more years, no matter what happens to his status. Backup? Absolute backup? No matter. As long as he has the privilige to practice among the likes of Lionel Messi. And then in the summer of 2019 Barcelona will force him out of the club, selling him back to Galatasaray or Fenerbahce for 2,5 million euros, just to cash in for one of their biggest flops on the market.

In any other case, with a midfielder or two signed and Alena coming through he's absolutely not needed in the midfield and if Deulofeu comes back too and Rafinha stays, then he won't be used on the wings either.
He can cheer the team, but you'd think it would be better for him to earn some big bucks elsewhere or play for a team like Arsenal and help them back to the CL

I see Arda teaming up with Douglas in the stands of Camp Nou.
BTW I'm might be wrong about the following thought, but Arda is in Spain for 6-7 years now and hasn't really learned to speak Spanish. Instead all his interviews for the club are in Turkish.

It seems like he can converse with the players in Spanish, but he's not at a very good level or fluent like ter Stegen or Rakitic who gained that level in a year or two only.
Douglas is actually doing okay for Sporting Gijon and they might want to buy him
Then how about he at least tries to look interested in playing well? At this moment, he is neither good enough nor interested enough, all at the same time

If our next coach is indeed Unzue I'd be more worried about Arda staying because even with all these other players he'd still find a way to ruin our season as he has this season.
