Neither Otamendi or Mussachio are a significant upgrade on FF. Fazio's having a brilliant season, and has more experience. But FF-EG have developed a good chemistry and cover well for each other. And its understandable y Sabella may not want to disturb it, esp. at this juncture. Though I'd like to see Fazio included in the squad. The willy snub is something I can't defend him for.
And a preference is not something to be debated.

Musacchio is my choice along with Gonzalo Rodriguez to take to Brazil. They know each other and comfortable in a five. I do agree with Zanela behrox both Federico and Ezequiel are superb aerially. Garay can also take a very decent penalty if required.

What is unforgiveable is this continued insistence on Romero.

If there should be a Romero on the team it should be Lucas Romero of Velez. All round midfielder, who outshone Gago in the Libertadores last year when Gago was there.

Gago is now out for sixty days with knee ligament damage, 45 minutes at a minimum. I would like to see Lucas in despite his youth and international inexperience.

The AFA are full of idiots. There are so many problems in Argentine football that they refuse to tackle pardon the pun. Not to mention appointing idiots in charge of critical areas.

The u20 coach is son of the AFA President for life Don Julio mafioso and yes you guessed it nepotism was involved.

I don't think their defence is as bad as people make are making out. They had the second best defence in qualifying and have 3 clean sheets in their last 3 friendlies. The biggest worry is the keeper and the injury to Gago. I think they have every chance of making a Semi final run.
