With Nico G. out, I would go with the front 3 of Alvarez, Lautaro and Messi again vs Paraguay to see how that goes.

If the plan is to have Lisandro as a LB going forward to the WC, I would test him there as much as I can. The dream would be to have Balerdi starting at LCB, but I'm pretty sure it'll be Otamendi starting.

Both Lisandro and Pezzella out, so Medina came to squad. Still puzzle of why no Senesi. This will probably be the XI that Scaloni will line up, but hoping to see these subs.

Thoughts on Buonanotte in terms of attributes? I know you have referred to him a few times recently. He looked a real talent at Brighton alongside Enciso (it's a shame this guy isn't Argentine too as he'd fit like a glove) and now he's on loan at Leicester as you will be well aware. Leicester lost 3-0 the other day at Man United, but Buonanotte showed the same glimpses we seen at Brighton before his loan move. He is small and moves like the ball is stuck to his feet, like one of many types of Messi clones with his twisting and turning and ability in tight spaces. At times he was dribbling and showing promise, though you can see like Garnacho that the decision-making has to greatly improve.

You know more about Argentina's youth than I do so how does he stack up to some of the others (apologies if you already said in the thread and I missed it).

I like Buonanotte, technically really good, good intelligence and decision making, good control in tight spaces.

The problem that I see with him are 2 things for the national team.
1. His physicality is not the best, he has decent speed but not quick enough imo he would need to play as a false right winger or needs to learn how to play as a CAM.
2. There's a lot of talents that are left footed attackers who can play in the right wing such as Soule, Nico Paz, Valentin Carboni, Luka Romero and Mastantuono. Not to mention players who are right footed who can play in the right wing like Garnacho and Gio Simeone. Buonanotte has a lot of competition and his lack of pace might hurt him imo so he really needs to stand out technically and decision making.

Right now, he and Nico Paz are the ones shining at their club and in good form (which is why he's been called up) so he needs to keep the momentum going and improve.

Thanks, really good reply as always and I will monitor him and keep an eye out for the other players you mentioned. I know most of them but not all. I noticed his lack of physicality too, not that quick and doesn't seem overly strong for his height either.

Thanks mate, yeah just looked. Looks strongest team though I thought Li Martinez might start. Lol Otamendi still about.

Ah right, didn't realise he was injured, when did that happen? He played on Sunday.

One of them should start yes, as you say just being careful.
I think it happened during the game. Don't think it's anything serious, but always a good idea not to take any risks.
