The 2nd half vs Chile was the best display that I've seen since vs France 1st half in the WC.

Maybe Licha will be the LB going forward...

Vs Colombia at Barranquilla, I highly doubt that Scaloni will play the likes of Soule and Barco. Think from his perspective, it's just to integrate them to the team slowly and see how they work. I expect them to feature in the Oct WCQ and onwards. I expect a lineup something like this vs Colombia

-----------Alvarez------Lautaro
Nico G.---MacA-----Enzo-------RDP
Lisandro---Ota------Romero----Molina
-------------------Dibu

Sub in Lo Celso, Paredes, Castellanos, Dybala, and Garnacho

The Starting XI of the best national team in the world

Not surprised at all of the Starting XI.

Subs will probably be Garnacho, Castellanos, Acuna, Dybala and Lo Celso

Wish Scaloni made the subs a lot earlier, but that'll probably be a weakness of his going forward. Not taking too much from this game based on the conditions. Next qualifiers, I expect more young bloods played.

Still 1st place in the Conmebol standings.

the PK goal should have been a yellow card for a Columbian dive.

was the ref bribed ?

shit pitch too.

both sides walked half of game and 2 cooling breaks.

Colombia can't be that hot this time of the year.

It’s Barranquilla. Hot throughout the whole
year.

I think they always play there to gain advantage through the heat. Same way every int Ecuador game domestically is played in Quito to benefit from the height. Same for Bolivia playing in La Paz.

This should be common sense, but seems like it's not for some players

Yeah it's coach-dependent. Rodri for example (and Villa players as Scaloni says there) take the ball while facing their own goal with a man pressing them because they trust him to play it out wide and get out, and then the pressing player is out of position and maybe the whole structure of the opponent is temporarily out of shape/sync. It's all about how much risk you wanna take. I think a lot depends on how good the player receiving the ball is in the sense of being good under pressure. Obviously you would rather have a Rodri take the ball there than a De Paul, for instance.

But I don't think either is 'right' or 'wrong', it's just the preference of some excellent coachs (Pep, Scaloni, Emery, even the young boy at Brighton, Hurzeler). Now and then it will bite you, you'll lose the ball and concede, but some think the risk and reward is worth it for being able to play out and get things moving through the thirds.

Get Garnacho OUT of the seleccion. I won't support the lads in any game he plays. He is not even good enough to be in the seleccion anyway.

OUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT.
Not only is he not very good in my opinion with little hope of becoming top class (as I have alluded to on here a few times), but he's a Ronaldo fanboy playing in Messi's team. Now obviously you want people to have their own opinions and not be forced into groupthink, but there's something weird about a rabid Ronaldo worshipper playing for Argentina.
