How immature and insecure are these kids today, telling fellow professionals they are very bad at football and bragging about what they have won at club level for a totally different team.

Brazil are finished.

Edit: also waiting for @Fati_Future_BallonDor to come in and say this proves Argentina are great without Messi and he has little impact on the NT. You know it's gonna happen :VdB:

Get me that baller de Paul
He flies under the radar, and you wouldn't think someone like me would be a fan of him.

But I am. He works so hard for the team, does the dirty work, always has intelligent positioning. I bet Messi loves having him in the team.

Plus, he isn't a donkey. I don't know why people say he is. Yeah he's not Riquelme but he's adequate/decent technically and can control and pass a ball well enough.

He's one of the guys who epitomises some of the Argentina players in this NT - what he lacks in sheer football genius, he makes up for with his conscientious commitment to the cause and willingness to run through brick walls.

In hard times, AT NATIONAL TEAM LEVEL, would you rather have him or Vinicius (a much more talented player) by your side?

The kids grew some balls now that the daddy GOAT isn't around to stop them talking shit. Anyway, love some banter, at least the football spirit still lives in South America and Eastern Europe.

How many passes in the build up for that second goal? Beautiful football. Successful Argentina sides in the past rarely played as beautiful as this team, even in the winning days of El Diego.

The decision making and choice of pass is always spot on. Bit disappointed Scaloni took the foot off the gas with the substitutions. Really hate seeing that when a historic result is attainable.

This could have easily been 6 or 7 - 1, but will go down in history anyway.

The best national team in the world.

A bit more polishing in the squad depth and we'll be ready for the World Cup.

These players are so humble and hard working, very proud of them.

Yea, i was as i tend to be ahead of the pack on this one.

He's an a excellent player that would add value to any team in the world, and what would have been for a very reasonable transfer fee and wages.

The technique
Hard work
Positioning
And he's got that south American skill in his even for a DM/Box to box player.

If the club has listen to me years ago, when i made the suggestion, we would be better off right now.

Such is life.

This has been Argentina's best match since the World Cup final 2022.

Incredibly, the 2025 squad is better than the 2022 squad even with the loss of Di Maria

Hopefully, Scaloni will use the remaining 4 qualifiers to fine tune the squad players and we'll be ready for the World Cup 2026.

Only 3 things can potentially stop Argentina from going back to back

Bad luck
France
Spain.

Are you saying that Messi was holding you lot back since the WC final? :mou:

Unfortunately i was right, Argentina is a well oiled machine which doesnt rely on specific players. @KingLeo10 insulted me for saying Messi is a screw in that engine but as expected i was right! The times when they needed him was between 2014-2016 when they reached 3 finals and needed 1 goal. But he failed in these finals when he was in his prime. I have Messi in my top3 Goat list for his individual attributes but it will hurt his legacy that he always needed the best team in the world to win big titles....

----

Argentina is dangerous as fuck in WC, they and Spain are top2. Germany and France top4. Portugal and Italy top6. Tough WC. Probably best WC since 2010!
