@Barcaman @Andresito

Itā€™s like this guy doesnā€™t learn fresh off a ban

Lol chill dude, you cant have extra rules for Messi, you would call the player a fraud if it would happened to any other player who isnt a Lionel, be neutral!

@Admins Also these kind of posts are only for the hardcore guys of the KL group who always say Messi has done everything and dont give credits for his team mates, dont take these posts as my usual metric about la pulgašŸ’Æ

With both Tagliafico and Romero in doubt, I would play the following vs Peru

ā€”--------------Martinezā€”-Messi
Garnachoā€”--Lo Celso----Enzoā€”-Palacios
Medinaā€”----Balerdiā€”----Otamendi------Montiel
------------------------Dibu

Sub in Castellanos, Almada, Perez, Paredes, Paz

Sure, if the comparison level is all the other Atletico frauds who only show up once every blue moon and then disappear.

Maffeo could at least win some duels.
What does his form have to do anything with other Atletico Madrid players?

I like Maffeo and I wish he was in the national team, but Molina is better than him.

If Scaloni keeps his msyterious selection policies in place then he has to go. Senesi offers a real comfort aerially. Time & again the aerial route has been exploited by opponents with Otamendi a glaring weakness. Some players are complacent others off form.

RDP needs dropping as a message to him & others. The likes of Maffeo, Soler, Medina, Senesi even Quarta need to come into the side defensively. Varela into midfield.

I don't know why he brings some youngsters into the team & then refuses to give them minutes. The game against Paraguay was crying out for Almada & Paz. Instead Scaloni went his usual route which had nothing to do with the on field situation and brought on Paredes & Montiel. If he keeps this up I would remove him & bring in Placente who has been excellent with the u16 u18 & should be coaching the u20. Too much dead old wood, too many complacent players. It has all the hallmarks of the old boys club that used to plague Argentina for years.

Even Messi deserved to be hooked but of course I don't think any manager has the cojones to do it.

@soul24rage I am just looking at their seven remaining fixtures man.

Peru (H)
Uruguay (A)
Brazil (H)
Chile (A)
Colombia (H)
Venezuela (H)
Ecuador (A)

There's some tough ones here (on paper and reputation at least) but they have likely already done more than enough to qualify anyway even if they lost all (never ever gonna happen) and they will win plenty of these I expect. I think they'll take about 13-17 points from these and finish on 35-39. It's important though more that they can go on a winning streak and keep confidence and momentum high going into the tournament.

This is the right place to ask, so how do you feel about the rule that the holders have to qualify now? I can't remember the exact year it came in but think it was either 2002 or 2006, memory hazy. Do you think holders should be granted an automatic berth? It seems it would be a fitting reward, and it would be weird to have a World Cup without the champions. However, obviously if you win a World Cup you will always be good enough to qualify next time.

Before Scaloni came this team was a squad full of serial loosers like KL would say, to say he needs to leave after winning wc and 2 copas is a horrible opinion and dont forget it's only 3-4 matches after last Copa win, give this man time šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

I mean the team that are current world champions must qualify for the next edition. Argentina have to qualify for the next one. So theoretically we could have a modern world cup without the champions/holders.

It never used to be like that - the champions used to qualify automatically, like the hosts.

If the WC happened annually, then champion should qualify everytime imo. But since it's every 4 years, then I would say that champions need to play the qualifiers.

If you knew anything about football then a coach is only as good as his last game. The aim should be to win 2026. He's not overhauling the side. There is plenty of talent to do so. And he needs time for them to bed in. Not shove them into the side in late 25 or early 26. There is this perennial problem with him too regarding setpiece defence. And also his substitutions. Always the same & not suited to the needs of the game. The team needed goals & he brought on Montiel & Paredes instead of Paz & Almada.

I don't think he has the cojones to withdraw Messi either. There is an old boys culture developing again in the team along with untouchables. Always a bad sign for any side. de Paul should not start until his play improves. Running around like a headless chicken, misplaying passes, wasting scoring chances doesn't qualify you to start because you are Leo's best bud.

Senesi, Medina, Quarta & Perez are already an improvement on Pezzella & Otamendi. No sign of them. No sign of Soler or Maffeo or even Esquivel in the fullback spots.

Varela, Equi Fernandez, Perrone would be nice to see in midfield to freshen it up & provide real legs & bite & skill.

It's needed so the team can be assessed properly. Friendlies are simply not the same as competitive matches. Mind you if Argentina didn't qualify from CONMEBOL would be the greatest shock of all almost narrowly achieved in 2010 by Diego & 2018 by the incompetent clowns at the AFA.
