Özil's (great) pass, Flamini's finish. :worthy:

Also, rumour has it Morata has agreed to join Arsenal on loan in January. Would be brilliant if true.
Brilliant pass. Eurosport are reporting that Wenger has denied interest in Morata. They have also been linked with Pato too.

Next 3 fixtures:

Sunday: Arsenal vs Everton 4pm
Wednesday: Napoli vs Arsenal 7:45pm
Saturday: Manchester City vs Arsenal 12:45 pm

Well we are definitely screwed thanks to BT Sport. Why couldn't they make the City match on Monday?
City play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday. And they've already qualified in the champions league whereas our match against Napoli will be very important.

The Napoli game won't be crucial, even if we're not at our best I doubt we'll lose 3-0, first place in the group would of course be nice but we don't need to destroy them. But yes, that schedule is kind of ridiculous.

We need to top the group to get an easier draw in the next round. Otherwise we would be guaranteed to draw one of Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich or Athletico Madrid.

Oh, dang, I didn't realize that the situation with the first place teams was that bad, in that case we probably do need to win. But Napoli are pretty meh, I'm confident we can get the result. I think Everton and City at the Etihad will be much tougher games.

All the other Arsenal fans I've spoken to are fearing a major implosion/crisis incoming. Now I'm worried :(
No reason to. Annoyment aside, at the start of the season many doubted Arsenal would even advance from the group. Too bad the first spot was given away and I'd also question some of Wenger's decisions today, but all in all they qualified, which is most important.

The only thing that mildly worries me is that City will be overconfident after winning against Bayern and have also rested loads of their players. I seriously hope Wenger will start Walcott against them.

I think we'll have/are already in a slump, but I don't see an implosion. Once we scrape through this extremely difficult run of fixtures, we'll be fine. Logically I shouldn't, but I feel really confident for the City game, despite it being at the Etihad and City being in better form than us. I just have a feeling we'll go there and send a message after two games in a row without winning.

Don't even see a slump. The Napoli game shouldn't have been lost considering the good situation Arsenal was in prior to it, but then again, it's an extremely tough ground and Napoli disrupted any football being played in the first half. Drawing with Everton was annoying too after taking the lead so late in the game, but neither City nor Chelsea were more convincing at the week end.

Not sure what to expect from the City game though. :icon_neutral:

Barca will draw Arsenal next round. Everyone knows it. Mathematically the highest probability as well.

Özil can escape La Liga but he can't escape Busquets' pocket. :pep:

I think we can all agree that Giroud is useless in front of goal without Walcott or another winger by his side. Right now, there are two creative attacking midfielders by his side and all Giroud can contribute with right now is link up play. Which is fine against some teams but Arsenal can't use him as a counter attacking threat. His best way to score is with those low crosses provided by a winger/fullback. Often in a counter attack.

He won't beat his defenders by sprinting onto through balls and he won't beat defenders one on one. He needs service and he's not going to get it when he's playing with attacking midfielders by his side. Unless Arsenal press really high of course.

Last game at the Etihad ended 1-1. After that followed a defeat at the Emirates. Because of a stupid red card early on.
Last time they played each other was a few weeks before the season started. Pre - season game which Arsenal won easily with 3-1. Sure, a friendly but Arsenal took advantage of the same weaknesses City are showing right now. Mainly how easily their midfield gets bypassed and how weak their back four is.

A win for Arsenal is not impossible but they should be happy with a point.
